“I have not broken your heart – you have broken it; and in breaking it, you have broken mine.” It’s time to hear these words (or some variation of them) as Wuthering Heights is here… again. Emily Brontë’s only novel has been adapted more than 50 times over the years, but the new film directed by Emerald Fennell (known for Killing Eve and Saltburn) feels more special because of its lead actors. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, who are playing Catherine and Heathcliff, have given fans countless reasons to get excited by constantly heaping praise on each other during the press run.
Wuthering Heights premiered at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Jan. 28, 2026, and Warner Bros. Pictures released the film in theaters on February 13. Whether the film perfectly captures the book’s themes of possession, love, revenge, and reconciliation, as well as the Romanticism and semi-Gothic styles, is up for audiences and critics to decide. If you’re patient enough and don’t intend to watch it in theaters, you could wait for it on PVOD and HBO Max. But when will it be available?
When Will ‘Wuthering Heights’ be Available on HBO Max?
Wuthering Heights was produced by MRC, Lie Still, and LuckyChap Entertainment, but will be distributed by Warner Bros. This means that the romantic drama will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max once it finishes its theatrical run. The studio maintains its Tier 1 deal with the streaming service since both fall under the same corporate umbrella (Warner Bros. Discovery). However, it remains to be seen how things will change once the Netflix acquisition is complete.
It usually takes Warner Bros. movies about 10 weeks to arrive on HBO Max after they are released in theaters. For example, A Minecraft Movie appeared on the streaming service’s homepage on Jun. 20, 2025, approximately two and a half months after premiering in theaters on Apr. 4. The fantastic 2025 release Sinners took the same amount of time to get to streaming, arriving on HBO Max in July, approximately 10 weeks after its Apr. 18 release. Additionally, Final Destination Bloodlines debuted on streaming on HBO Max on Aug. 1, approximately two and a half months after people started grabbing popcorn.
While no official HBO Max streaming date has been announced, Wuthering Heights will likely follow the 2025 release pattern. Should the movie follow the same SVOD release pattern as other recent Warner Bros. releases, viewers can expect it to debut on HBO Max sometime around April 3, since new films typically arrive on SVOD on HBO Max on Fridays.
When Will ‘Wuthering Heights’ be Available on PVOD?
As is the norm nowadays with major studio films, Wuthering Heights will first be accessible on digital streaming via premium video on demand once it’s allowed to warm hearts in the home entertainment marketplace. By analyzing previous release patterns, one notices that there is normally about a month to a six-week window from the moment Warner Bros. films open in theaters and the time they debut on Premium Video on Demand (PVOD).
Final Destination Bloodlines hit theaters on May 16 and arrived on PVOD just a little over a month later on June 17. However, Sinners, another Warner Bros. horror hit, opened in theaters on April 18 but took over six weeks to arrive on PVOD (June 3). This was an exception due to the movie’s massive hype. Other films have mostly adhered to the four-week window.
James Gunn’s Superman should have stayed in theaters longer, too, given its great box office performance, but it took only 35 days to hit the digital market due to special circumstances. The quick turnaround was part of a studio strategy to capitalize on the movie’s theatrical momentum to boost the performance of the upcoming season of Peacemaker.
Should Wuthering Heights stick to the four-week pattern of the 2025 releases, viewers can expect it to be available to buy or rent on PVOD on Mar. 17, since new film PVOD releases generally come out on Tuesdays. So, there’s one question now: where will you watch Catherine and Heathcliffe’s epic romance?
