The Witcher 4 may still be a ways off from releasing, but that doesn’t mean fans of the series can’t get their hands on some new freebies. Despite being official downloads offered for free by CD Projekt Red, a lot of people may not even know these exist. Thankfully, you still have time to grab them.

The reminder comes via Vattier over on the official CD Projekt Red forums. This is an account straight from the company, so you don’t have to worry about downloading something malicious. If you’re looking forward to The Witcher 4 (and, really, who isn’t?) then head on over and check out these free items.

For now, you can download free wallpapers of The Witcher 4 directly from CD Projekt Red, and it seems like fans are pretty hyped. “Put the first one on my desktop as soon as it came out,” writes one user. “These are stunning, thank you!” reads another comment. Other posts simply exclaim, “Fantastic!” and “Incredible!!!“

Right now, there are seven wallpapers to choose from. They show off various environments from The Witcher 4‘s world, as well as a few enemies and characters. Each one has a logo for the game in the bottom-center of the image.

These wallpapers were posted in December 2024, so you’d be forgiven if you’ve overlooked them. Most of the attention for The Witcher 4 at that time was on the big trailer at The Game Awards that year, so fans might’ve not been scoping around for free wallpapers back then. However, the freebies are still very much up for grabs.

Things have been mostly quiet on The Witcher 4 front lately, but we’ve casually gotten official updates since 2024. And that’s not even including the various rumors and alleged leaks that keep popping up for the game. CD Projekt Red has confirmed the RPG won’t arrive before 2027, leading many to believe we’re still quite a few years away from its launch.

These wallpapers may be a small consolation prize for the actual game, but if you’re eager to dive back into The Continent, then this is a nice enough way to spice up the background of your computer. And besides, the game looks gorgeous and these wallpapers are totally free. Hopefully, we’ll get some more news on The Witcher 4 soon, and hopefully, that’ll come along with even more official free content from CD Projekt Red.
