Strange New Worlds’ Jess Bush Reflects On Final Season And Spoiler-y Photos

Jess Bush laughs about Anson Mount sharing a potentially spoiler-y photo from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ final season, but there’s another culprit as well. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds wrapped its fifth and final season right before Christmas 2025, creating a circumstance where seasons 4 and 5, consisting of 16 total episodes, are banked and waiting to premiere on Paramount+.

As Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ production wrapped in December, Anson Mount became especially nostalgic about his five seasons leading the USS Enterprise as Captain Christopher Pike. Mount shared many behind-the-scenes videos and photos on his social media, including a special photo album created by Jess Bush for her castmates.

However, one of those Star Trek: Strange New Worlds cast photos shows Ethan Peck’s Lieutenant Spock sporting unusually long hair and a beard. During her Q&A panel at Farpoint 2026, Jess Bush fielded a question about Spock in that photo that Anson Mount shared, and Jess humorously deflected the possible spoiler:

Anson should not have posted that photo. (laughs) Yeah, I’m not gonna tell you.

Jess Bush also addressed the unusual circumstance Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ actors finds themselves in, where they are moving onto new things in their professional lives but will still promote the two yet-unseen seasons of Strange New Worlds when they premiere on Paramount+. Read Jess’ quote below:

I will let you know [what it’s like]. I have not experienced this before. I think it’s really special. You know, the end of the show was really poignant for us. Very bittersweet. And so, I think still being able to come to these conventions and talk to you guys and to see each other… I live so far away from everybody else. So, the opportunity to come over here and see my castmates every few months, potentially, and to have the show continue to come out… I think that it really softens the blow of the end. I think it’s an incredible gift. I think a lot of actors don’t get this kind of thing with their shows, in terms of the continuation in conventions. It’s special. I feel lucky.

While Jess Bush and the fan asking focused on Anson Mount, the nostalgic producing director Chris Fisher also shared another photo of the last time Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ series regulars were together on the Starship Enterprise’s bridge. Ethan Peck is also in full regalia as Spock, wearing a tactical suit, beard, and disheveled hair.

Although this gathering was the final time Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ main cast gathered on set, it doesn’t necessarily mean the photo is from the series finale, which will also include Thomas Jane as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy and Kai Murakami as Mr. Sulu. It’s possible that many scenes or even episodes that didn’t require the entire cast together were shot after the photo was taken.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds season 3 cast

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 was filmed in 2025 and wrapped after season 3 premiered on Paramount+ in June, which was accompanied by the announcement of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ 6-episode fifth and final season being greenlit. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ cast and crew filmed two seasons throughout 2025, but fans likely won’t see them until 2026 and 2027.

Although production of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is over, Jess Bush understandably looks forward to seeing her castmates whenever they reunite at Star Trek conventions, and when they do press for seasons 4 and 5. Eventually, fans will know exactly why Spock looks so strange in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5 cast photo that Anson Mount and Chris Fisher shared.
