Miley blow, Gordon starts, Hall benched – Confirmed Newcastle & Spurs team news

The team sheets are in at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Eddie Howe’s out-of-form Mags take on Thomas Frank’s out-of-sorts, injury-hit Spurs side.

Newcastle have lost their last three games, conceding 10 in the process, while Spurs have been the 17th best team in the Premier League at home this season, and lost 2-0 at Man Utd last weekend.

Here’s how the two sides line up ahead of tonight’s 7.30pm kick-off in North London.

Newcastle XI: Pope – Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Burn – Willock, Guimaraes, Ramsey – Elanga, Gordon, Barnes.

Substitutes: Ramsdale, Hall, Tonali, Wissa, Osula, J.Murphy, Woltemade, A.Murphy, Shahar

Spurs XI: Vicario – Gray, Dragusin, Van de Ven, Spence – Bissouma, Sarr, Gallagher – Odobert, Solanke, Xavi.

Eddie Howe has made FOUR changes from Saturday, seeing Burn, Ramsey, Elanga and Gordon replace Hall, Tonali, Murphy and Wissa.

The bad news is that Miley misses out once again. He’s not with the squad and it looks like his dead leg remains a problem, meaning he could be missing for upcoming trips to Aston Villa and Qarabag.

Hall dropping to the bench (Burn comes in at left-back) suggests he is fatigued and needed a rest, although Trippier starting (again) at right-back raises questions after the 35-year-old was ran ragged on Saturday.

Joelinton misses out once again, meaning he’s now been sidelined for five games in a row, while Fabian Schar, Tino Livramento and Emil Krafth also remain sidelined.

Spurs, meanwhile, have a number of key players missing, with Cristian Romero, Pedro Porro, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison just a few 11 senior men absent.

Djen Spence has returned for Thomas Frank, however, offering some good news for the hosts after Destiny Udogie’s injury on Saturday left them light on fit full-backs.

A huge game in the context of our season. Let’s hope we’re up to it. Howay the lads!
