Vlahovic – Alvarez – Barco feature in Chelsea transfer new

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Valentin Barco and Julian Alvarez that you may have missed…

Chelsea are advancing in talks to beat Arsenal and Barcelona to the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, as the Blues look to add to their attack early in the summer window.

CHELSEA spent big on Joao Pedro and Liam Delap last summer, and reports suggest they may need to part ways with 100m euros (£87m) to add Alvarez to their attacking ranks as Pedro and Delap have not scored the goals that the club would like.

It has been reported in recent weeks that Arsenal or Barcelona are the two clubs that are leading the chase to sign Alvarez when the transfer window opens up in just a few months, time, butt reports from ESPN Argentina now suggest that Chelsea are the club leading the charge for Alvarez’s signature, with talks held between the player’s agency and the club earlier this week.

‘I insist, people are talking about a lot with Barcelona and Arsenal,’ ESPN journalist Jorge Baravalle said.

‘But I’m being told that the team slowly moving forward is Chelsea. Chelsea, quietly, are advancing for Julián Álvarez.”

‘I’m told there are conversations. In fact, part of the agency handling Julián’s transfer was in London this week, watching Chelsea v Arsenal. They know both clubs want him, but what I’m being told is that, as of today, the most advanced contacts are with Chelsea.’

Speaking in December last year about the speculation surrounding his future at Atletico, Alvarez said: ‘Look, it doesn’t bother me. I try not to pay much attention, but I know what’s being said.

‘It’s all over social media. I think it’s more what’s being said online than what’s actually happening.

‘I’m very focused on this season, on what lies ahead with Atletico Madrid. So, I try to tune it out and think about myself, about continuing to grow as a player, and about winning.’

The January transfer window has only just shut, but we have seen in recent seasons that Chelsea like to make agreements with platers and then bring them to the club in the following transfer window.

We do not know if these rumours are actually true, but we do know that if CHELSEA managed to acquire the services of Julian Alvarez, he would bring alot more than just goals to that Blues attack.

However – we are not quite sure that he is the ideal striker to lead that Blues attack, we have seen over the years that a big, powerful forward like Didier Drogba or Diego Costa is the type of forward that thrives at Chelsea.

The summer transfer window is a few months away, so lets see if this move actually happens.

ROSENIOR WANTS BARCO

Chelsea are interested in signing the Argentine ace Valentín Barco from RC Strasbourg, as Blues boss Liam Rosenior has reported informed the board that he would like the South American signed.

Liam Rosenior has been in the Chelsea job for a few weeks now, and to be honest, he has done a pretty good job getting the Blues chase for a Champions League place back on after a number of poor performances from Enzo Maresca’s men.

However – the Carabao Cup loss to Arsenal last week showed that Rosenior is lacking the players that he needs to get his football style across to the rest of the squad, and there are alot of reports that he will be given the funds to add to his side when the summer transfer window opens up.

And according to a report from Bolavip, the newly appointed CHELSEA manager has requested that the club hierarchy sign the player, and he has reportedly informed the Chelsea hierarchy: “I want Valentín Barco back.”

Barco has one goal and four assists to his name in Ligue 1 this season, and he would only improve with coaching and experience. He is well-versed with Rosenior’s system, and he could settle quickly and make an immediate impact.

Rosenior will need to get used to the fact that the kind of players that he needs to bring to Chelsea will have to produce more than 4 goals and 1 assists, that is not what will make a difference for him while at Stamfrord Bridge.

He is managing one of the biggest clubs in the world, has one of the biggest transfer budgets around and has a bunch of top-level players that have alot of egos that he needs to keep in check, would they really be worried about the signing of Barco?

We are not sure the player will make any difference to that CHELSEA side, he would probably struggle to make any real impact at Stamford Bridge with all the quality that the Blues have.

But if he wants him, we are sure the board will allow a move to happen.

VLAHOVIC INTERESTED IN CHELSEA MOVE

There has been some fresh reports in the media which have claimed that Chelsea are hoping to sign Dusan Vlahovic on a free transfer from Juventus at the end of the season, and he could be open to a move to England according to reported Iomie Stanley

Though Vlahovic has been an important performer for Juventus in recent season, scoring 64 goals in 162 games, the Italian side are keen to offload his club-high £350,000-a-week wages.

Clubs across Europe are on alert regarding Vlahovic’s situation, and the TMW website are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have contacted the player’s representatives about a possible move to the Premier League in the summer

Vlahovic was free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in the January window, but obviously that did not happen, but reports have claimed the London duo are battling for his signature. AC Milan are also keen and confident of a deal, despite Vlahovic’s interest in a move to England

And according to reporter Stanley, he could be interested in a mega money move to England, he told icfootballnews: ‘Dušan Vlahović is a powerful centre-forward known for his physical presence, aerial ability, and eye for goal — traits that could suit the Premier League’s intensity.

‘With a strong record in Italy’s top flight, Vlahović would add a proven goalscorer to Chelsea’s attack — something the Blues have lacked consistency in recently. He’s alo played in the top Leagues and the Champions League, giving him a maturity that can help a young Chelsea front line.

‘This blend of attributes means he could instantly compete for a starting role — particularly in games where Chelsea need a focal point up front or a plan B to more creative attackers.

‘A free transfer for Dušan Vlahović could be a smart strategic signing for CHELSEA — but only if the club integrates him well and balances his role in the team.

‘He isn’t the transformative figure who guarantees 20+ goals a season on his own, yet his physicality, Serie A experience, and finishing ability add a useful dimension to Chelsea’s attack

‘And the fact he would get more than his £300k-a-week that he gets at Juventus, he would more than be open to a move to Chelsea’
