There has been some fresh reports in the media which have claimed that the likes of Arsenal are pushing hard to try and secure the signing of Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez.

Now, we all know that Arsenal spent some serious money in the summer transfer window, they added a number of players, but Viktor Gyokeres was really signed to solve the ARSENAL striker issues

However – Gyokeres have failed to impress like many would have hoped, meaning that the Gunners board will once again delve into the transfer kitty and possibly add a new striker to that attack, and Julien Alvarez has been linked with a move back to the Premier League.

According to a report from SPORT, the player will cost over €100 million, and two London clubs are pushing hard to secure his signature.

Alvarez has been one of the best strikers in the world since his move to Atletico Madrid. He has been scoring goals consistently, and there is no doubt that he would be an exceptional addition to that Chelsea attack.

But the January transfer window has just closed, Arsenal could have signed Alvarez if they really wanted to get the South American star, so rumours will continue to fly over the next few months about players the Blues could sign.

We do know that ARSENAL need to add some leaders to the squad, they need to sign players that will make an immediate impact, Alvarez is the type of player that could come in and lead that Gunners attack.

However – After the Gunners spent so much money getting Gyokeres last summer window, it would be a shock to see that Mikel Arteta would give up on a player that he wanted to sign so badly.

But he would also love to have Alvarez in the side, he is the Spaniards perfect kind of player.

TROSSARD FREE TO LEAVE?

Belgian star Leandro Trossard is reportedly one of the players that could leave Arsenal at the end of the season, as Mikel Arteta wants to make some space for his potential signings in the summer window.

ARSENAL have been buying some quality players over the past couple of transfer windows, and all their hard work in the market has paid paid, as the Gunners are favourites for that Premier League title this season.

But there are a few players in the side that are probably no longer needed by Mikel Arteta, and there has been alot of speculation and rumours in the media about stars that could be let go in the upcoming transfer window.

Trossard was heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal during the January window, with PSG reportedly interested in a potential deal, and such was the rumours, Mikel Arteta had to come out and play down his potential departure.

But there has been alot of rumours over the past few months about players that Arteta wants in that attack, but with so many options already, it has been claimed that Trossard is a player that the Gunners would be open to letting go.

Maybe in the summer, Arteta will look to freshen up the side and maybe Trossard will be allowed to depart ARSENAL , especially if the attacker actually wants to play a bit more often.

Right now he is the type of player that Mikel Arteta likes to use sparingly, he is not guaranteed to start every week and with all the clubs that may be interested, with the opportunities to play more often, the Belgian may also be open to leaving the club.

Trossard still has a part to play this season for Arsenal, but the summer could be the end of his time at the Emirates, if you believe all the speculation and rumours.

SANDRO TONALI MESSAGE SENT

Alan Shearer has told Newcastle that they should expect to lose their top stars like Sandro Tonali in the summer if they fail to qualify for Europe next year, with Arsenal one of the many clubs that are interested in the Italian star.

Towards the end of the January transfer window, ARSENAL were heavily linked with a move for the Italian star as reports suggested that Mikel Arteta was looking to replace the injured Mikel Merino, who could be out for some time.

But that move obviously never happened and Tonali is staying put to try and help Newcastle get back into Europe and compete against the very best teams, but that may not be the case next season if you believe the words of Shearer.

“Sandro Tonali hasn’t hit the heights he was at last season, but I guess what’ll happen is, if Newcastle aren’t going to qualify for Europe or be competitive in the Premier League, you’d expect other clubs will look at Newcastle and try to buy their best players,” Shearer told Betfair in the wake of rumours of an Arsenal switch.

“Although it was a surprise in the January window, I think it’ll happen more in the summer if Newcastle don’t achieve what they have in the past few years.

‘Top players want to play Champions League football, and we know there’s no real loyalty in football – I’m not saying Tonali will do anything like that, but we know if clubs don’t get into European places, other clubs will try and pick players up.

“Newcastle have to start winning games and go far in the FA Cup and hopefully the Champions League to try and rescue what, at the minute, certainly Premier League wise, has been a disappointing return.

‘I know we got to a semi-final and all those years ago we’d craved for that but then the money that’s been spent and put into the club and where the club wants to go to, at the minute it’s been disappointing.”
