Netherlands international Eljero Elia has given his seal of approval for Liverpool to sign Tottenham defender Micky Van De Ven when the transfer window opens up at the end of the current season.

This January presented the club with an opportunity to sign Guehi for a bargain £30 million, but instead, the Reds board made the decision to hold off any potential move and wait to sign the England defender at the end of the season for a free.
That delay prompted Manchester City to swoop in and offer Palace the money they wanted, offered Guehi the £200k-a-week wages that he wanted and he is now under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.
That has meant that LIVERPOOL have started eyeing up potential alternatives for Guehi and According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven has emerged as a “genuine” contender to sign for the Anfield side in 2026.
Now, Elia has opened up and had his say on Van De Ven – He said: “I think van de Ven has to finish the season at Tottenham (by playing) consistently and show everybody he can go to the next level. He’s strong and has good posture. He can score, he can dribble, and he can defend.
“If he continues like this, I think after the World Cup, he can make a good step to the bigger clubs. Not that Tottenham isn’t a big club, but clubs that are a step above, like Real Madrid and Liverpool. I think it fits his career to move from Tottenham to the big teams.”

We have said it before and we will say it again, Van De Ven will be interested in a move to LIVERPOOL and we believe that the Reds will make an offer at the end of the season, he wants to win trophies and he will not do that at Tottenham right now as they look like a side that is heading in the wrong direction
CEO DROPS TONALI MESSAGE
Newcastle United CEO David Hopkinson has admitted he has ‘no idea’ whether or not the likes of Liverpool were presented with the chance to sign Sandro Tonali by the midfielder’s agent during the January transfer window.
LIVERPOOL were heavily linked with alot of players over the course of the January window, as many felt that Arne Slot needed to add an enforcer like Tonali to the midfield, and the Italian was a player that could have reportedly left Newcastle in the window.
Reports claimed that his representatives supposedly indicating to ARSENAL that a move could be negotiated, but in the end, the big Italian International obviously stayed put and now the clubs CEO has responded to the reported news.
In an interview with talkSPORT, Hopkinson was asked whether there was any truth in stories claiming Tonali’s agent was behind this recent transfer speculation.
“I have no idea. That’s our answer,” he replied. “Eddie [Howe] got it right, he doesn’t know, I don’t know. Here’s what I do know: he’s a superstar player, he’s under contract here.
“He’s not the only player we had that other clubs would covet, so I think if we get a situation where people aren’t trying to muck about and sew some chaos into the marketplace in order to dislodge our players then we’ve got a real problem.
“Sandro has been a wonderful player, a smile’s on every day I see him, I believe he’s happy here and we’re certainly happy with him.”

Tonali could have left Newcastle in the winter window, and it would have been a massive loss for the Toon to lose such a massive player, especially as they wants to get back into the Champions LEAGUE for next season.
LIVERPOOL and Arsenal will be interested again in the summer window, but will they want to pay that massive £100 million asking price?
SLOT DELIGHTED WITH JACQUET SIGNING
Reds boss Arne Slot has expressed his glee with the signing of Jeremy Jacquet at Liverpool after the Premier League Champions managed to beat off the likes of Chelsea to sign the gifted young defender.
LIVERPOOL have completed a £55million plus £5m in add-ons deal to sign the centre-back from Rennes in the summer window after many in the media believed that he was heading to Stamford Bridge after they held talks over a move.
His signing comes amid uncertainty over the future of Ibrahima Konate, whose contract expires at the end of the season, and now Arne Slot has opened up and expressed his delight that the defender is making the move to Anfield.
“Very pleasing of course,” said Slot. “He’s a very big talent and maybe even more than talent but we speak about talent because of his age.
“Second, because we weren’t the only one interested in him so it’s a big compliment to the people working really hard to sign players.
“Such a big talent and another example of the model we’re using at this club – young, very talented players sometimes at the start of their careers or sometimes already a little bit a few years into their career but always players that are young and can improve us in the short term but also definitely in the long term.
“We’ve signed a lot of them recently and like I’ve said many times in the mid-long term future of this club, and even the short term, is in a very good place.”

There has been alot of talk about the quality of Jacquet, but many are wondering why LIVERPOOL did not bring him to the club in the January window and opted to bring him to the club at the end of the season.
He could be a massive player in the future, and he will get to learn from one of the best in world football, Virgil Van Dijk, so he could develop into a world class star learning from the Dutch star.
