Mystery Science Theater 3000 is getting revived again. RiffTrax and Shout! Studios are teaming up to produce four new episodes of the cult classic sci-fi comedy series, with the aim of releasing them by the end of 2026, 38 years after the show’s original premiere. RiffTrax launched a Kickstarter campaign to support the ambitious production, which will feature all-new handcrafted sets and props, and it seems that fans want to help in any way that they can, as the fundraiser has already smashed its modest $20,000 target.
As reported by Variety, longtime MST3K veterans Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett are heading back to the Satellite of Love to reprise their beloved onscreen roles, with Nelson returning as host, alongside Murphy and Corbett as his robot friends Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot, in addition to Mary Jo Pehl back onboard as Pearl Forrester. The original trio will also be steering the ship as creative leads on the new episodes, which are officially housed under the title Mystery Science Theater 3000: The RiffTrax Experiments.
