Here is a roundup if the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfer talk from deadline day that you may have missed featuring the likes of Jeremy Jacquet and Sandro Tonali…
Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet worth up to £60m, despite the many rumours that the defender was going to make the move to Chelsea.
It has been claimed in recent weeks that the player has asked to join CHELSEA, the club have come to an agreement over a deal for the defender and it was only a matter of time before an announcement was made by the clubs hierarchy.
However – in recent weeks the possible move has stalled because Chelsea seemingly do not want to meet the asking price that has been set by the French club, but that does not seem to be the end of the saga.
But now reports have revealed that LIVERPOOL have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet worth up to £60m, and the Reds have agreed to pay a fixed fee of £55m plus a potential £5m in performance-related add-ons.
And the reports add that Jacquet is already flying into Liverpool to have his medical on Deadline Day.
Liverpool are not as blessed with options at centre-back. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are their only fit senior players in that position, with Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni injured, meaning a new defender was needed to be signed by the club.

CHELSEA will surely be fuming with this latest news as they were seemingly all set to complete a move for the young man, so the reports that he has now agreed a move to Liverpool will come as a blow.
But with all the defensive issues that Liverpool have right now, there is more opportunity for Jacquet to play at Anfield than there is at Chelsea, which is why he has probably agreed that move.
But the lad is talented so LIVERPOOL have signed a very good player that is for sure.
LIVERPOOL TOL SIGN TONALI
Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has encouraged his old side to rival Arsenal for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali. The Italian has been linked with a deadline day move to the Emirates Stadium.
LIVERPOOL spent some crazy money in the last transfer window and many people expected Liverpool to be a force this season, but those signings have not really made the impact that Arne Slot would have liked.
The transfer window has been open for a few weeks now, and although it is not certain if LIVERPOOL will make any moves this month, there has been alot of speculation about players that could make the move in the future, and Tonali is a player linked with Merseyside.
Now with reports that Arsenal are looking to sign Sandro Tonali this January, Pennant has opened up and told Liverpool that they should try and sign the Italian enforcer ahead of the Premier League leaders.
He exclusively told the ECHO: “Newcastle are absolutely in no rush to sell. If they want him, Newcastle are going to charge over the odds. You’re looking at £80million minimum to try and get him and I don’t think that’s what you pay for a stop-gap.
“You don’t pay those kind of fees for someone just to fill in because someone’s injured. If you want him that bad then, he’s worth that because he’s a fantastic player, you can see what he’s done for Newcastle.
“I would like LIVERPOOL maybe to go in for him, play him as that number six or anyway, it will be a nice little addition, but yeah, I don’t think Arsenal or Newcastle will be doing business with Tonali.

It would be a shock to see LIVERPOOL actually make a move for the man on deadline day, especially as they have a number of players in that midfield area already under Arne Slot.
But there is no doubt that he is a quality player that is ready for that next step in his career, and the fact that he has two of the biggest clubs in the Premier Legaue chasing him shows just how quality he really is.
Arsenal will be very lucky to get Tonali as we cant see Liverpool making the move.
JACQUET A SUPERB SIGNING
Liverpool fans have been told that incoming signing Jeremy Jacquet is a superb signing after the Reds managed to beat off Premier League rivals Chelsea for the signature of the talented Rennes star.
LIVERPOOL have been linked with alot of players over the past few weeks, and some big names have been mentioned, but it seems that Jacquet is the clubs number one transfer target and the board have been working hard to secure a deal.
The young French star is coming to LIVERPOOL on a deal worth around £60 million and he is reportedly agreed a contract worth around £100k-a-week for the next four-years, as Liverpool look to solve their defensive issues.
Now that Liverpool have signed the defender, Journalist Julien Laurens has applauded Liverpool’s signing of Jeremy Jacquet and claimed that he will be a superb signing for the Reds when he completes the switch
He wrote on X: “I can’t stress enough what a superb signing Jeremy Jacquet will be for Liverpool! He is a special talent and has everything to become one of the best defenders in the world. And he is Paris born and bred too which makes him even more special!”

The lad is talented, he has a big future, he is playing well, all these things could go wrong with a move to LIVERPOOL because he might now be able to handle the pressures of playing for one of the biggest clubs in world football.
But there is no doubt that he is a real talent player that Arne Slot will love, and Chelsea will be fuming that he has rejected a move to Stamford Bridge.
