Monday has brought news that Rafa Benitez has signed Moussa Sissoko.

Watford revealing today that the now 36 year old has departed the Hornets to sign for Super League Greece side Panathinaikos on a permanent deal.

Moussa Sissoko and Rafa Benitez were briefly together at Newcastle United in 2016.

Rafa Benitez has found life tough at Panathinaikos since joining them as manager in late October 2025, the team having played six league matches by that point, winning two, drawing three and losing one.

They were runners up in the Greek Super League last season but way off that this season.

Panathinaikos have played 12 league games under Rafa Benitez, winning six, drawing two and losing four.

They are only fifth in the table, nine points off fourth and a huge fourteen points off third.
