The 2026 Grammy Awards are underway in Los Angeles. Darren Criss is currently hosting the annual Premiere Ceremony at the Peacock Theater, where the majority of the 96 Grammy categories are being announced prior to the main telecast. The primetime portion starts at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and is being hosted by Trevor Noah. It’s the comedian’s sixth and final time at the helm.
Leading off this year’s nominations is Kendrick Lamar, who has a ceremony-high nine nods, including Album Of the Year for his 2025 album GNX. Trailing the GNX rapper are Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, and Mayhem producer Cirkut, who have seven apiece. In addition to Lamar, the AOTY race includes Bad Bunny, Clipse, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, R&B upstart Leon Thomas, Sabrina Carpenter, and Tyler, the Creator. None of the nominees has ever won the category, although everyone except Leon Thomas, Clipse, and Malice has been nominated in the past.
The 2026 performer slate includes Gaga, Bieber, Carpenter, and Clipse. Those nominated for Best New Artist—Addison Rae, KATSEYE, Alex Warren, Thomas, Lola Young, Olivia Dean, and sombr—will perform in a medley segment. On the tribute side, Lauryn Hil will honor D’Angelo and Roberta Flack, while Reba McEntire, Brandy Clark, and Lukas Nelson will perform during the In Memoriam segment.
The Grammys are also premiering new categories this year, including Best Album Cover, while Best Country Album has been split into two categories: Best Contemporary Country Album and Best Traditional Country Album.
