Masters Of The Universe’s Cast Is Massive, But 1 Missing Character Stands Out

Masters Of The Universe’s Cast Is Massive, But 1 Missing Character Stands Out

The Masters of the Universe trailer proves that the upcoming live-action film has a large scope in terms of the He-Man mythology it’s looking to adapt. And while some key changes to the story are evidently in order, such as He-Man starting his journey on Earth, it’s clearly drawing a great deal from the Masters of the Universe toys and the 1980s Filmation cartoon.

Its effort to bring Eternia to life on the big screen is underscored by the sheer number of characters on hand. The Masters of the Universe cast includes a handful of He-Man’s biggest villains, including Beast Man and Trap Jaw. And key allies, from Battle Cat to Mechaneck, will be on hand too.

That said, not every major player from the story is confirmed to be in the movie.

Where Is Orko In The Masters Of The Universe Reboot?

So far, the most glaring omission from the Masters of the Universe movie is Orko, as he was nowhere to be seen in the trailer. The miniature wizard from the world of Trolla, Orko is one of He-Man’s most visible companions in the series. He has a long list of allies, but Orko, Battle Cat a.k.a. Cringer, Teela, and Mat-At-Arms easily stand out as the most important members of the supporting cast of heroes.

Battle Cat, Teela, Mat-At-Arms, and significantly less relevant characters like Mechaneck and Fisto will be around, so it would certainly be a surprise if it doesn’t have room for Orko. It’s worth noting that a number of casting announcements have been made, but there’s still no word on Orko’s involvement.

It’s possible, of course, that Masters of the Universe has yet to reveal him, but his absence across all of the action shots, not to mention He-Man’s arrival in Eternia, does cast doubts on him matching the importance of the cartoon character.

Masters Of The Universe May Hold Orko Back For A Sequel

Unless Masters of the Universe has successful hid Orko from the early marketing despite a major role in the story, it would seem that the character won’t be vital to He-Man’s battle against Skeletor. However, cutting him out altogether does seem unlikely, especially when considering how the movie is being positioned as a faithful adaptation of He-Man’s world.

Rather than exclude him entirely, the movie may limit him to a cameo or post-credits scene. In doing so, Masters of the Universe can hold something back for a potential sequel, and pave the way for He-Man to on a cartoon-accurate adventure with Orko and Battle Cat in his next big-screen adventure.
