Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito interesting Arsenal

It seems that Arsenal are monitoring the young Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito closely, as they seek to add another forward to that attack, as there are reports that Viktor Gyokeres could be replaced by Mikel Arteta.

Gyokeres joined Arsenal in a £64 million deal from Sporting CP last July following an impressive run of 97 goals in 102 matches for the Portuguese side, but the Sweden international has scored just eight goals during his time at the Emirates and looks like a man that is struggling for confidence.

There has been some reports in the media over the past few days that Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is another player that ARSENAL are very much interested in signing, but his £87 million asking price may be a problem for the Gunners.

But it now seems that Arsenal are still scouring Europe for possible alternatives for Alvarez and it seems that they could be raiding Italian giants Inter Milan when the summer transfer window opens up in a few months time.

WHAT IS THE LATEST WITH ESPOSITO?

According to CalcioMercato, Esposito caught Arsenal’s attention during the Champions League meeting between both sides last week, and the report states that Arsenal scouts were said to be impressed by his overall display at San Siro.

As a result, Esposito is now another name added to the growing list of striker targets for the Gunners and they will keep a close eye between now and the end of the season, with a view to making an offer to try and get a transfer deal done.

COULD ESPOISITO REALLY MAKE THE MOVE TO ARSENAL?

Look, he is happy at Milan, he is playing, the lad is developing very nicely and the interest from ARSENAL just shows the kind of quality that he is showing, it will be a compliment to have such a big club keep a very close eye.

The summer transfer window is many months away and there will be alot more speculation, but if Arsenal are continued to be impressed by the opening of the window, then they will make a move.

The lad has serious potential and is the kind of age that Mikel Arteta could mold into his perfect striker, so it will be an interesting watch to see if the Gunners do indeed make a move in the summer.

By Gyokeres needs to bang in the goals because his performances have not matched the quality he has shown over the past few seasons.
