The Boys is coming to an end with its fifth and final season in April, but one Supe star won’t be away from screens for long. Homelander actor Antony Starr has already lined up his next small-screen project, taking the lead role in a new Netflix thriller, which he is also executive producing. The scripted series, titled Breakers, is already in production in Australia, with the shoot set to wrap in June – the month after Prime Video’s satirical superhero saga reaches its almighty conclusion (and the leader of The Seven’s fate is finally revealed).
Starr is the only cast member currently attached to Breakers and will play a central role in the surfing drama as a character named Brando, per Netflix. Two best friends will cross paths with The Boys baddie when they “go backpacking in Australia and are soon drawn into a seemingly perfect community of surfers led by a charismatic but mysterious figure.” The synopsis suggests that there is more beneath the surface and that the backpackers may end up facing some choppy waters as they wade deeper into the wave-riding fraternity.
This is a developing story…
