Speedruns in Minecraft can be difficult without using the best world seeds to generate the resources needed to reach the Ender Dragon faster than anyone else. The right seed could let you have the right Stronghold close to your spawn or be close to starting equipment without having to mine for it. The 1.21 update included even more unique environments that may help you get to the credits fast.
The key to speedrunning comes from traveling to the Nether fast by harvesting Obsidian blocks. This is so you can craft enough Eyes of Ender from Blaze Rods in Minecraft to activate the End Portal found in the Stronghold. The best seeds for fast runs will have pools of lava you can use to build a Nether Portal, which teleports you close to Blaze mobs when you travel between dimensions.
Cherry Blossom Village
Seed No. -1954962231574696778
Villages are always helpful for a Minecraft speedrun since some houses have chests with valuable resources. This seed spawns you in a Minecraft Cherry Blossom biome close to a small settlement with a house belonging to a Blacksmith, an important mob to find for their raw materials.
Iron, Gold, and an Iron Sword can be found here to jump-start your journey with enough materials to break Obsidian blocks for a quick Nether portal. By jumping into a Portal fast, you can start farming the Blaze Rods that you need to start crafting Eyes of Ender, which will eventually let you travel to The End of the game.
Ruined Nether Portal
Seed No. -569919664172379455
Another village can be found near the spawn location of this seed, but the main attraction here is a small bed of Obsidian blocks arranged to resemble a Nether Portal in Minecraft, sitting in a pool of lava. Located above ground, your own Obsidian from chests in the village can be used to make a portal from the already-arranged blocks.
Iron is one of the most important resources you’ll want to find as soon as possible in a speedrun seed, as Iron tools are necessary for crafting stronger tools and giving you decent enough gear to defeat the Ender Dragon.
Part of the Ruined Portal is made from Crying Obsidian, which unfortunately cannot be used as a piece to construct an actual gateway to the Nether. Thankfully, an Iron Golem mob found near spawn from this seed will help you get Iron tools to mine the other blocks.
Desert Temple Ruins
Seed No. 638141143732715702
While it may not look like it at first, this seed holds almost anything a Minecraft speedrunner might need. When you appear in a savannah/desert hybrid biome from spawn, travel to a nearby Desert Temple in Minecraft, hidden in the sands. These structures are a treasure trove of early resources, which can give you a lucky head start in your speedrun adventure.
From here, you will find at least three chests containing a good amount of Iron and other resources that will help the early stages of your journey. Be mindful of traps within the Temple though, as your run can end just as fast as it can start if you make a wrong move.
Icebound Blacksmith Village
Seed No. -2095471597570576945
Those looking for a village dedicated to Blacksmiths in Minecraft will succeed through this seed. Here, players spawn in a snow-covered area with the location they want right across a frozen lake. Blacksmiths are among the most valuable Villager mobs to find in the game, as the items they sell and have in their homes can give you excellent starting tools.
Chests here hold 5 Obsidian blocks, the amount you will need to complete a nearby Nether Portal broken into ruins within the same biome. There’s even another chest in these ruins with a Flint & Steel tool to help activate the portal.
Desert Pillager Outpost
Seed No. 4621516844364984175
Pillager Outposts are usually too dangerous to consider for speedruns, but the Iron Golem trapped in a cage at this seed’s bandit den lets you avoid any risk. Simply attack and kill the Golem without provoking enemy mobs to collect some free Iron in Minecraft.
In addition, this seed features another Blacksmith Village containing almost 14 Obsidian blocks with half a set of Iron Armor to help you against enemies in the Nether.
While destroying a defenseless Iron Golem may not be the most noble thing to do, the resources it drops are useful for your future tasks. Make sure not to interact with any Pillagers in this seed, though, as a single one is capable of killing you in the early section of your speedrun while you’re low on materials.
Twin Iron Villages
Seed No. -822484008302087253
The winter forest you find yourself in using this seed places you in not one, but two Blacksmith Villages located right next to each other. The combined resources found in both areas are staggering, with almost a full set of Iron armor, Iron tools, and Iron ingots you can use to craft other items.
Digging down here also reveals a large lava pool, which provides everything you need to start building your Nether Portal. Since the Iron Villages in this seed are in a winter-filled area, some lakes and ponds provide water, which you can combine with the lava to form Obsidian, which your Iron tools can harvest to build a gateway to The Nether.
Trials To The End
Seed No. 310857020810272344
Most Strongholds are isolated in Minecraft, making a speedrun to The End a test of patience or a scramble for the right items to lead you to a portal. This seed makes the discovery process easier, placing you near the appropriate Stronghold early at coordinates (345, -32, 1274). However, while you could jump to the Ender Dragon right away, a nearby structure provides the perfect resources for such an intense battle.
The Stronghold’s End Portal in this seed is directly on top of a Trial Chamber, a dungeon of challenges that yield great rewards. Managing to defeat the enemies in a Trial Chamber will let you loot some great items, including tools necessary to make the Ender Dragon fight effortless. While a slight detour, those with the speedrunning skills can use the Trial Chamber as an opportunity to guarantee results.
Sunken Treasure Ship
Seed No. 2835955152058382683
Underwater treasure can often be rare in Minecraft, but this seed ensures you are near a destroyed vessel as soon as possible. From spawn, you will be near a standard village in Minecraft, with everything you need to go swimming for the chests within the ship below the body of water right below the grassy biome.
This rare structure will have plenty of materials, including some pre-made tools you don’t have to craft yourself. Grabbing high-grade tools that are already made from the sunken ship makes your speedrun far easier, as you can then focus on building a Nether Portal right away.
Swamp Of Horrors
Seed No. 3849429921140383320
At coordinates (346, -28, 1274), this seed has an unassuming gravel Village next to a small Swamp, with each area being flanked by deep crevices with all the resources you could ever want. Coal, Iron, Stone, and everything from Village chests will get your speedrun off to a great start, but the hidden details here are just as interesting. A nearby Witch Hut may seem dangerous, but its secrets could give you an edge for a unique journey.
This seed has a Stronghold with 10 Eyes of Ender already located on its End Portal gateway. However, this may only be accessible in the Bedrock edition of Minecraft.
The Stronghold for this world sits directly under the Village, making it far easier to locate than others. Although this seed may seem “safe” in its approach, the existence of a Swamp Village can create special trades, providing something other worlds can’t for your speedrun. Abundant materials and decent shelter should also protect you from unpredictable risks, allowing you to reach The End without too many issues.
House Of Diamonds
Seed No. 6790734861381482413
Immediately from spawn in this seed, your character will be inside a village, pretty much right on top of a Blacksmith’s house in Minecraft. This gets you off to a great start, with the chest inside this home having three Diamonds and several Obsidian blocks.
Diamonds are not always needed for a good Minecraft speedrun, but they can provide better gear or tools than your typical Iron if you are lucky enough to find any during your journey.
With a lava pool close by, the Diamonds in Minecraft can be used to craft the strongest armor in the game to keep yourself alive as you challenge Blazes and, eventually, the Ender Dragon. With how deadly hostile mobs can be, any Diamond gear you craft is also helpful against the standard Zombies, Spiders, Skeletons, or Creepers that try to end your speedrun quickly.
