Eddie Howe has been speaking to the media this morning, offering an update on Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn ahead of Sunday’s clash with Aston Villa.
Bruno was unable to continue after going over on his ankle during Wednesday’s 3-0 win over PSV, while Burn was back in light training earlier this week following a month out due to a rib and lung issue.
The good news on Bruno is that he’s not yet been ruled out of Sunday’s game, with Howe set to give him ‘every chance.’ However, the full extent of the injury still isn’t known, creating an element of uncertainty going into the game.
“We hope it is not serious; extent of the injury is still unknown.
“He was reasonably positive after the game, he is the guy that will never rule anything out.
“We are going to give him every chance for this weekend.
“We will try and make the right decision with Bruno; he is a pivotal player.”
It’s positive that he has a chance, but all possibilities seem open this weekend, with results of scan and his recovery over the next 48 hours set to be key.
As for Burn, Howe revealed that it is possible he makes the squad against Villa, as he’s ‘desperate’ to be involved again and is going to train full with the group today:
“Possibly [for Sunday], I think.
“He is out with the players today, possibly the first day where he’s training fully with the group, taking contact, and that will be the key for him.
“He’s desperate to get back involved, so that’s a great sign.”
