Liverpool have not experienced the best record against the Premier League‘s newly promoted sides at Anfield, and it leaves them with a record to avoid against Burnley.
The Reds have drawn with Sunderland 1-1 and Leeds 0-0 at Anfield this season. Not since January 2002 have they failed to defeat newly promoted teams in any of three successive home league games.
And the last time the Reds won none of their three home games against promoted sides in a league season was in 1980/81, 45 years ago.
Safe to say that is one Slot will want to avoid!
Liverpool need to turn draws into victories
The Reds have drawn each of their last three league games – at home to Leeds and away at Fulham and Arsenal.
Not since January 2008, under Rafa Benitez, have they drawn four in a row in the Premier League.
They have also scored fewer league goals in the opening half hour of Premier League games this season than any other team – they have netted just three times.
Liverpool keeping the margin tight this season

Liverpool beat Barnsley by a three-goal margin, but of their six league wins at Anfield this season, they are yet to win any by two or more goals – and that is also the case away from home.
Never in their history have Liverpool failed to win at least one game in a league season by three goals or more.
The Reds need to be more convincing on the scoreboard, at least for our sanity!
Scott Parker returns to Anfield for first time since 9-0 rout

Scott Parker’s last Anfield game against Liverpool saw his Bournemouth side lose 9-0 at Anfield in August 2022. He lost his job just three days later.
As for this season, they have 13 points after 21 games, with fellow newly-promoted Sunderland having amassed 30 and Leeds 22.
They have scored more away league goals (12) than eight other teams in the top-flight this season, but only Bournemouth (29) have conceded more on the road in the Premier League than Burnley (26).
The Clarets have not won any of the last 12 league matches since back-to-back wins over Leeds and Wolves in October, taking just three points out of their last 36 on offer.
