Glen Powell is continuing his push as Hollywood’s next leading man, having strengthened his star power in recent years by appearing in blockbuster hits like Top Gun: Maverick, delivering charismatic turns in rom-coms like Anyone But You, and securing headlining roles in action-thrillers like Twisters and, more recently, Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man. The actor is showing no signs of slowing down, and is now in negotiations to lead an original sci-fi feature titled Tesseract from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail. The project has reportedly landed at Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists and is currently in active development.
The news comes courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, though the outlet notes that details about Tesseract are thin at this stage. It is, however, said that two other lead roles, both females, are yet to be cast. They shouldn’t follow too far behind, as the production is eyeing a summer shoot in London and Hungary, provided the project receives the all-important greenlight. So far, it is looking promising, especially with Powell as the frontman. He would also be producing with Dan Cohen, his partner at the duo’s Barnstorm Productions.
