Reacher Season 4 is hotly anticipated by many Prime Video subscribers, and there is quite a lot of information available about the show’s upcoming run. Adapted from Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books, the Amazon series was an immediate hit when it premiered in 2022, and the hype only gets more intense between seasons. Reacher‘s rapid turnaround time plays a big part in the show’s popularity, so an equally fast return to screens this time around is vital to keep audiences enraptured.

With a current overall score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, Reacher showrunner Nick Santora will be looking to uphold the action saga’s impressive reputation as it moves into its fourth season. Thankfully, Santora and company appear incredibly prepared to accept that challenge. Although there are fans who believe Reacher Season 1 was the show’s peak and those lofty heights haven’t yet been returned to, both runs that have followed in its wake so far have actually been getting progressively better reviews from critics. That’s a lot of pressure for Season 4 to live up to.

‘Reacher’ Season 4 Is Confirmed

Prime Video’s confidence in Reacher has always been evident. Season 4 was officially announced in late 2024, months before Season 3 began on Amazon’s streaming service in early 2025. The show’s return will bring with it another eight episodes, matching the tally of the previous three runs. Reacher is such a well-oiled machine at this point that it makes sense for the production details to remain largely unchanged. It also makes it a streamlined affair if and when Reacher Season 5 gets the green light. But let’s face it, that’s pretty much an inevitability at this point.

Reacher Season 4’s preemptive renewal follows in the footsteps of Season 3’s, which was also announced before the run before it had premiered. It would take going back to Season 2 to break this trend, although even Reacher‘s second batch of episodes was announced fairly quickly. Season 1 had just begun, and Season 2 was officially announced shortly after. Barring a major dip in quality or the show falling out of favor, it’s fairly safe to assume that this eagerness to continue Reacher isn’t going to fade anytime soon.

‘Reacher’ Season 4 Should Land in 2026

There’s been no official announcement from Prime Video confirming when Reacher Season 4 is set to arrive. However, the show is expected to return at some point in 2026. Reacher‘s previous turnaround times support that timeline. While the gap between Seasons 1 and 2 was just under two years, fans then only had to wait a little over a year before Season 3 dropped. The most recent finale aired on March 27, 2025.

Therefore, going by the most recent gap between Reacher episodes, it’s reasonable to expect Season 4 to drop in mid-to-late 2026. Even if it does take until the second half of 2026 for Reacher Season 4 to arrive, fans won’t be left without anything to watch. The Neagley spinoff reportedly wrapped in June 2025, before Reacher‘s upcoming run finished its shoot. So, it stands to reason that Neagley Season 1 will premiere before its parent show’s return.

What ‘Reacher’ Season 4 Will Be About

Reacher has a huge advantage over many live-action adaptations in that Lee Child has written a lot of source material. He penned his first Jack Reacher novel in 1997 and has been steadily adding to the series ever since. As such, it’s unlikely that Santora and company will ever get to bring all the books to the small screen. While this may sound like a bad thing, it just means the writers can cherry-pick only the installments they feel will work best in live-action. Each season of the Prime Video show so far has adapted one of Child’s novels, and the upcoming run continues this pattern.

Reacher Season 4 will focus on 2009’s Gone Tomorrow, which is actually the 13th installment in Child’s literary series. Adapting the books out of order isn’t anything new for the Prime Video show. In fact, other than the decision to base Season 1 on 1997’s The Killing Floor, every following run has chosen a novel that bucks the original publishing sequence. Gone Tomorrow will return the show to New York City, with Alan Ritchson’s Reacher caught in two minds about whether or not to foil what he believes to be a terrorist attack. If Season 4 honors the book, which it should, then the show’s return will continue its trend of using Reacher’s past to inform his present. Expect a healthy dose of flashbacks.

‘Reacher’ Season 4 Cast

Just like the books on which they’re based, Reacher‘s various seasons all function as standalone adventures, although the adaptation takes a less severe approach to this facet of Child’s work. Regardless, the result is generally the same. Alan Ritchson is the only member of the Reacher cast who’s required to move the larger story forward. He moves around so often that it wouldn’t really make sense to have a core group of recurring actors. Prime Video finds ways to soften the edges of this extreme casting quirk, but it’s still very prevalent. You can check out the main players in Reacher Season 4 in the table below.

Reacher Season 4 will also feature recurring guest stars who are expected to make key contributions to the story: Marc Blucas as John Samson, Kathleen Robertson as Elsbeth Samson, Kevin Weisman as Russell Plum, and Dean Armstrong as Foster. At present, it seems as though Season 4 will be Reacher‘s first outing without Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, who is busy having her own adventure in the upcoming spinoff. Even if she does appear, she’s unlikely to have more than a brief cameo. In theory, there’s the possibility of other cameos from previous seasons of Reacher, but that is also currently just speculation.
