Moving on, Glaser couldn’t not mention Timothée Chalamet.
While the comedian, as promised, didn’t “go hard” on his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, though the couple being the topic of non-movie-related conversation as awards season kicks into high gear seemingly bore mentioning.
Chalamet is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy for Marty Supreme. The film, about a relentlessly self-confident table tennis hustler, is also nominated for Best Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy, while co-writers Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein are up for Best Screenplay.
“What a dedicated performance you gave,” Glazer praised Chalamet, calling him “the first actor in history to put on muscle for a movie about ping pong. He gained over 60 ounces, it’s insane.”
As for the comedy white whale that is cracking a successful joke about Julia Roberts, a Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, nominee for After the Hunt, Glaser did manage to land one, sort of.
“Just like Wicked, I’m back for a sequel,” Glaser kicked off her monologue announcing her return to the show by popular demand. “Just like Frankenstein I’ve been pieced together by an unlicensed European surgeon. Just like the podcasters nominated tonight, I should not allowed to be this close to Julia Roberts.”
The movie star did flash her signature smile.
