With a new Power Rangers series officially on the way from Disney+, a casting rumor has now surfaced online that could hint at who is set to feature in the highly anticipated project. It was confirmed in late 2025 that the creative team behind Percy Jackson and the Olympians was set to produce a reboot of the iconic ’90s action franchise. Now, fans can get an idea of the on-screen talent Disney is looking at to star in the new series.
According to Jin x Supreme, Disney is reportedly eyeing the following actors for lead roles in the upcoming Power Rangers series: Shaun Dixon, Paris Bravo, Judd Goodstein, Momona Tamada, Christian Alexander Cruz, and Kira McLean. From the top, Dixon is known for his work on the Disney Channel in Vampirina: Teenage Vampire, while Goodstein is another up-and-coming actor who appeared in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. Tamada recently played Ty Lee in Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, and is expected to appear in the second season later this year. Meanwhile, McLean has appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Cruz has several shorts, including High Strung, in his credits.
While details remain slim on Power Rangers, including final casting decisions, it has been confirmed that Percy Jackson showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are attached to develop the new series for Disney+. No stranger to the streamer, the creative duo hopes to bring a new iteration of the ’90s property to life. It is unclear if the show will connect to past versions of the Power Rangers, but it is safe to assume that fans will get a taste of a big-budget adaptation for the first time since the 2017 film failed to launch a movie franchise.
