Tony Stark Unleashes His “Anti-Matter Machine Gun”

In December 31’s Ultimate Endgame #1 – from Deniz Camp, Terry Dodgson, Rachel Dodson, Jonas Scharf, Federico Blee, Edgar Delgado and Cory Petit – the Ultimate Universe’s Tony Stark reveals the latest feature of his Immortus Engine armor – the Anti-Matter Machine Gun.

The weapon fires beams of energy that annihilate any form of matter, with Tony stating that the weapon is capable of eliminating anything that exists. Tony has built a lot of weapons over the decades, but this is his ultimate creation – a machine gun that obliterates its target, excising them from reality.

In the Ultimate Universe, Tony goes by the codename Iron Lad, and has used time travel to perfect his suit. The recent installation of the time-warping Immortus Engine (seemingly designed by his father) gives Tony the power to actualize versions of himself from different moments in time, allowing him to appear in dozens of places at once.

That means Tony doesn’t just have one anti-matter weapon – he’s running around the world with dozens under his control. It’s proof that the Immortus Engine suit is exactly the weapon he needs to fight an entire worldwide regime and free Earth from the Maker’s control… but it’s still not enough firepower.

Even Tony Stark’s Greatest Armor Isn’t Enough

Despite its jaw-dropping power, Tony’s first use of the anti-matter machine gun is an abject failure. Up against the Maker’s Children of Tomorrow, the gun instantly fails, with one of the Maker’s many, many soldiers simply shrugging off its effects.

As smart as Tony is, the Maker has been trapped in his lab for millennia, and the resultant tech is beyond anything even Iron Man can match.

Tony Stark just unleashed an Iron Man armor capable of toppling any foe… except the one he needs to bring down most. Ultimate Endgame will permanently conclude Marvel’s entire Ultimate Universe continuity, serving up one final battle. And while Iron Man will play a major part in deciding the outcome, he’ll need even more than his greatest weapon to do it.
