Brandon Sklenar Suits Up As DCU’s Batman After Becoming Fan-Favorite Bruce Wayne Pick In Realistic Art

The Brave and The Bold is still on its way, as the DC Universe will feature the next cinematic depiction of Batman in live-action. The DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” is actively working on its reboot for the Caped Crusader, as a new star will suit up as the DC icon.

With Brandon Sklenar continuing to be a hugely popular casting choice for Batman in Gunn’s DCU, @JohnKRegan shared new artwork of what the 1923 star could look like as the Caped Crusader in the franchise. Check it out below:

The artwork sees the It Ends With Us actor in a modern version of the classic Batman costume, as Sklenar has previously spoken about the hero being one of his dream gigs. Many of his audience members have quickly grown to support the idea of him joining the DCU as Bruce Wayne.

The actor also got more buzz this week when social media users began to notice that David Corenswet, who plays Superman in the DCU, had started following him on Instagram. This sparked many to start speculating whether or not Sklenar is either in talks for the role or has been cast already.

The Brave and The Bold movie, which will be directed by Andy Muschietti, is still in the process of having its script written. However, Gunn has still not revealed who the writer actually is at this time.

There are several actors who have spoken on the record about wanting to play Batman in the DCU, including Tom Welling, Jonathan Bailey, and Jensen Ackles. Reacher’s Alan Ritchson has also talked about wanting the gig, as he became a big-favored fan-casting choice, too.

When Ritchson spoke with ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley, the former Smallville and Titans star confirmed that he is in talks with DC Studios about a “messier” role in the franchise. Ritchson stated the following back in November 2025:

Alan Ritchson: Yeah. Yes. That’s the conversation that I’ve been having with them is like, ‘I want to play somebody a little messier.’ And I told them, I said, if I’m going to do this, I described to them the kind of personality that I’d want to play and what that would mean to their world, and I think it’s something everybody wants to see right now over there. So yes, I want to play somebody a little dirtier than your typical clean-cut protagonist.
