As much as this is undoubtedly a superhero series that will take place inside the wider world of the DC Universe, everything revealed about the show so far has been set on Earth, with no hint of the magic and mayhem associated with superhero projects.

Instead, this series is set to focus on mystery, intrigue, and crime drama in a way that distinguishes it from the rest of the superhero genre. But perhaps the central element that will make this series comparable to True Detective is the characters at the center of the story.

Hal Jordan And John Stewart’s Dynamic Will Be The Heart Of Lanterns

All the promotional material has focused on two characters in Lanterns, John Stewart, as played by Aaron Pierre, and Hal Jordan, as played by Kyle Chandler. These two characters are significant in DC Comics as two of the most popular iterations of the Green Lantern, and here, they appear to be working side by side.
