Nick Pope was a surprise omission from the Newcastle United matchday squad at Everton.
Eddie Howe explaining that the goalkeeper had picked up a groin injury in training on Friday.
The Newcastle United Head Coach adding that the injury would be further assessed early this week.
Now Sky Sports have given an update on Tuesday.
Keith Downie covers Newcastle United for the broadcaster and he has now revealed the extent of the injury.
The Sky Sports man saying that his information is that Nick Pope has been to see a specialist and the news is that the groin injury is set to see him out for around three weeks.
With no international break (unlike September, October, November), between Tuesday 2 December (tonight) and Saturday 20 December, Newcastle United having six matches.
These half dozen games could go a long way towards deciding the direction Newcastle United will go in, in all three competitions of Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup.
The upcoming matches are Spurs (H) 2 December, Burnley (H) 6 December, Champions League v Bayer Leverkusen (A) 10 December, Sunderland (A) 14 December, Carabao Cup v Fulham (H) 17 December, Chelsea (H) 20 December, Man U (A) 26 December.
The Sky Sports update would appear to indicate that Man U away on Boxing Day could likely be when Nick Pope is set to return.
