Naruto’s Greatest Scene in History Didn’t Involve a Single Punch

Naruto’s Greatest Scene in History Didn’t Involve a Single Punch

There are a few moments in Naruto that standout as highlights within the franchise, but one has cemented itself as the single greatest moment in the series. Naruto is one of the greatest action-packed shonen anime ever made, but surprisingly, the best moment in the franchise doesn’t even involve a single punch.

It’s a shock considering just how many great fights there are in Naruto, but that’s only a testament to just how great this moment is. From the beginning of the original Naruto until the end of Naruto: Shippuden, there’s almost too many amazing moments to count.

Naruto features the titular character’s time as a youth and highlights his bravery against all odds. Naruto: Shippuden continues the trend and focuses on Naruto defying odds time and time again, and most importantly, features this jaw-dropping, climactic moment.

Naruto Features Plenty of Amazing Fights…

Naruto vs. Sasuke 5, Kakashi vs. Obito, and So Many More

Naruto easily has some of the best fights in anime history. A lot of great shōnen series have at least one fight they can add to that list: Dragon Ball Z’s Goku taking on Vegeta for the first time, My Hero Academia’s One For All vs. All For One, and even One Piece’s Luffy vs. Lucci for the first time.

Naruto has so many fights that could qualify as the best of all time it’s hard to keep track of them all. Naruto has five fights against Sasuke alone, and at least three of them are undisputably top-tier. There’s also Madara vs. the Shinobi Alliance, Kakashi vs. Obito, and Naruto and Sasuke vs. Momoshiki, to name a few.

Most of these fights are incredibly consequential, as few of Naruto’s best fights don’t have some kind of emotional weight behind them. Still, even though the franchise has a ton of excellent fights, the best moment of them all doesn’t involve a battle whatsoever.

… But the Best Moment in the Franchise Is Naruto’s Arrival to Konoha

Sakura’s Screams, Naruto’s New Outfit, and His Entry into the Fight Are All Unreal

The single greatest moment in the entire Naruto franchise is Naruto’s arrival to the Village Hidden in the Leaves during the Pain Arc. It’s so hype that it might be the single best moment in anime in general, as there were a few key aspects that make this moment unreasonably momentous.

Pain had just destroyed the village, killed several key members of it, and was about to finish whoever was left when Sakura finally screamed for Naruto. It was the first moment in the series when the village at large, represented by Sakura, finally admitted that Naruto was leagues above them all, and only he could take on Pain.

Naruto then quite literally appeared out of thin air, sporting a brand-new outfit and an indomitable rage. He was on top of a toad, who was on top of another toad, who was surrounded by two more toads.

Naruto then destroyed one of the six Pains with a single punch right in front of the Hokage, Tsunade, cementing this moment as absurdly good. No matter what happens in Boruto, this moment will always be the best in the entire Naruto franchise.
