The Herons asserted control early, with Allende striking in the 14th and 23rd minutes. New York City pulled one back through Justin Haak’s header in the 37th, and the visitors pushed hard for an equalizer after halftime. But the Boys in Blue were repeatedly exposed on the counter, and Miami punished them with goals from Mateo Silvetti (67′), Telasco Segovia (83′), and Allende (89′) again to seal a commanding 5–1 result.
The night marked a milestone for Messi, who not only moved one step closer to another trophy but also broke the record for the most assists in soccer history. Inter Miami now advance to their first MLS Cup Final, where they will await the winner of Vancouver Whitecaps vs. San Diego FC.
