Amorim pushes Zirkzee out: “I understand his frustration.”

Joshua Zirkzee remains the hottest name in Roma. The Giallorossi are on the hunt for a new striker in January, and Gian Piero Gasperini is interested in the Dutchman.

After a successful spell at Bologna, he’s finding limited playing time at Manchester United.

He wants to compete in the World Cup this summer and needs playing time: Serie A and Roma could offer him this opportunity.

In Manchester, however, they’re still unclear about his future.

Manager Ruben Amorim hasn’t been playing him much, but with Benjamin Sesko’s injury, the situation could change.

Real negotiations with Roma haven’t begun, primarily due to the Red Devils’ position: the English club hasn’t yet opened the door to a loan.

On the eve of Manchester United vs. Everton, Amorim had his say on Zirkze and Kobbie Mainoo.

The young midfielder has also been on the fringes of the United project. The coach’s words at the press conference: “I was a footballer myself, I understand everything, and I want to help my players in every situation. I understand the frustration some players have ahead of the World Cup. I know what it means. But the most important thing is that the club comes first. If I can help the club and the players, I’ll be happy. Otherwise, I have to think about the team.”
