Arsenal will move six points clear at the top of the Premier League if Mikel Arteta’s side win at home on Sunday to a Tottenham side who are the only remaining team unbeaten away in the division.
The Gunners’ 10-match winning run in all competitions came to an end with a 2-2 draw at Sunderland on November 8, when the home side scored a 94th-minute equaliser.
Spurs drew 2-2 at home to Manchester United on the same day and could move fourth with a first win in four domestic matches.

Arsenal lineup vs Tottenham
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said centre-back Gabriel is out “for weeks” after suffering a thigh injury while playing for Brazil in a friendly against Senegal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, while full-back Riccardo Calafiori missed both of Italy’s games during the international break with a hip issue.
“We need another scan next Wednesday,” Arteta said of Gabriel. “Then we’ll have the timeline probably much clearer than it is at the moment.
“It’s clearly a blow because he’s our leader in our backline. It’s never a positive thing. The good thing is that we have very good options and we need to stand up now and do the job.”
Viktor Gyokeres (hamstring) and Gabriel Martinelli (muscular) are absent, with fellow forward Gabriel Jesus back in training but not yet in contention after 11 months out with a knee injury.
“He’s been doing everything with the team for almost two weeks,” Arteta said, discussing Gabriel Jesus.
“We’re going to give him some exposure as well, internally, with some games so he gets that fitness. But he looks really good in training and he’s going to be a big addition.”
Midfielder Martin Odegaard and striker Noni Madueke and Kai Havertz also have knee problems, so Mikel Merino in attack, with Bukayo Saka the captain.
“We’ve put in a lot of energy during the international break, with all the medical staff, to try to bring [players back] as quickly as possible,” added Arteta.
Arsenal starting XI: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Hincapie, Calafiori, Rice, Zubimendi, Eze, Saka, Trossard, Merino
Arsenal substitutes: Kepa, Mosquera, White, Lewis-Skelly, Norgaard, Nwaneri, Martinelli, Madueke, Dowman
Tottenham lineup vs Arsenal
Midfielder Mate Sarr Pape Sarr is on the bench for Spurs after missing Senegal’s subsequent game against Kenya, joined by Lucas Bergvall, who has been out with a head injury.
Randal Kolo Muani will play in a mask if the forward features as a substitute because of a jaw injury.
Defender Ben Davies is recovering from a hamstring problem and winger Mohammed Kudus returns, having missed two games with a knock.
Centre-back or right-back Radu Dragusin has returned to training following a knee injury but is not involved. Dominic Solanke is not yet ready for a comeback from the striker’s ankle injury.
“We are very aware that when we put him out there, we want to be absolutely sure – as sure as we can be – that there is no setback going forward,” manager Thomas Frank said of Solanke.
“I’m confident he will soon be ready, but I will not put a time frame on it.”
Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison (both knee) and Yves Bissouma (ankle) are out, as are Archie Gray (calf) and Kota Takai (quad).
“[Dragusin has] probably been at it for a couple of weeks now – full training, full in, everything,” said Frank.
“He’s definitely getting very close to being able to be selected, it’s just a matter of performance and probably just a few more game minutes to be fully available.
“Kota and Ben both trained with the team [on Friday for the] first time, so that’s positive.”
Tottenham starting XI: Vicario, Danso, Romero, van de Ven; Spence, Palhinha, Odobert, Bentancur, Udogie, Kudus, Richarlison
