Badlands Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Badlands Have A Post-Credits Scene?

The Yautja are back like never before in Predator: Badlands, and as the franchise keeps expanding, it’s only natural to think about what could come next. After all, the film is the third entry in the series’ revival after Disney bought 20th Century and Dan Trachtenberg was effectively given the reins to the universe.

Whether you watch Predator: Badlands in theaters or streaming, the end of Dek and Thia’s journey is likely to make one wonder if there will be additional teases for the future in the credits. Hollywood has become quite used to incorporating these credits scenes into franchise films, with Predator: Killer of Killers‘ credits scene marking a first for this piece of serialized storytelling.

That initial surprise, and the unexpected addition post-release of an extended version, made the possibility of Predator: Badlands having a post-credits scene seem more likely, especially with Trachtenberg teasing he already had ideas for another film.

Predator: Badlands Does Not Have A Post-Credits Scene

Instead of continuing to put post-credits scenes with Predator movies, Predator: Badlands wraps up without one. There is no mid or after credits scene added in that Trachtenberg uses to set up what else could come next.

That doesn’t mean you should stop watching as soon as the credits start rolling. It’s still good to sit through them and see the names of everyone who made this movie possible, from the director, writer, and stars to the various crew members and visual effects artists.

But anyone with a fear that they could miss out on a tease of the franchise’s future by not staying through the entire credits can rest assured. There’s no greater insight into Predator‘s future to be found at this point, as there’s not even a cool graphic epilogue like Trachtenberg attached to Prey‘s credits.

That makes it all the more intriguing that Predator: Badlands does not have a post-credits scene. Trachtenberg has given audiences some tease of another possible story at the end of the past two Predator movies. It appeared he liked using them and knew how to do them without boxing the franchise in.

After all, Prey‘s credits teased Naru’s tribe encountering an entire fleet of Yautja ships, suggesting we’d get to see that story next. But Killer of Killers‘ credits skipped over those events and set up a completely different idea for the franchise: Ursa, Naru, Dutch, and Harrigan being unfrozen and fighting the Yautja once more, but this time together.

With Predator: Badlands ending without a post-credits scene, the future of the franchise remains a bit less clear. But, perhaps that was intentional considering the movie takes place further in the future than any previous movie. By not including a credits scene, Trachtenberg can really figure out where to take things next.
