2024 has been such an amazing year, at least for fans of anime, since many reputable animation studios like Ufotable, Production I.G., and Science SARU have cooked up some incredible narratives. In fact, long-running shows like One Piece have kept us engaged for years, but the addition of new adaptations like Wind Breaker, Kaiju No. 8, and Solo Leveling really made a significant difference.
Having said that, despite the year’s final month approaching, a few other exciting anime shows have yet to be released, and fans are growing impatient. Fret not, December is almost here, and so are the shows we’ve been looking forward to all year. With that in mind, here’s every anime series set to premiere in December 2024.

‘Fate/strange Fake’
Streaming on Crunchyroll in December
It’s been nearly two decades since the war for the Holy Grail began, but the stories featuring it have taken many twists and turns, including several spinoffs from the original series Fate. Fate/strange Fake, the sequel to Fake/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn, is the latest entry in the long-running saga that has delivered some of the most iconic films and TV shows (animated by Ufotable), including Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven’s Feel trilogy. Crunchyroll describes the official summary of the new anime series as follows:
In a Holy Grail War, Mages (Masters) and their Heroic Spirits (Servants) fight for control of the Holy Grail—an omnipotent wish-granting device said to fulfill any desire. Years have passed since the end of the Fifth Holy Grail War in Japan. Now, signs portend the emergence of a new Holy Grail in the western American city of Snowfield. Sure enough, Masters and Servants have begun to gather… A missing Servant class… Impossible Servant summonings… A nation shrouded in secrecy… And a city created as a battleground. In the face of such irregularities, the Holy Grail War is twisted and driven into the depths of madness. Let the curtain rise on a masquerade of humans and heroes, made to dance upon the stage of a false Holy Grail.
Fate/strange Fake will premiere on Crunchyroll in December, although no official release date has been set.
‘Nights with a Cat’ Season 3
Streaming on YouTube in December
Not all anime shows need to rely significantly on visuals and character designs — some say a lot with minimal drawings and Nights with a Cat is a prime illustration of such an instance. The anime, released in August 2022 as an ONA (Original Net Animation) series, is based on a webcomic of the same name by Kyuru Z. This December, the series returns for its third season, with Ayahi Takagaki, Satoshi Hino, and Atsumi Tanezaki reprising their roles as Kyuruga, Fuuta, and Pii.
