With a Hollywood career spanning more than 50 years, Sylvester Stallone has impressively conquered both the big and small screen, with the acting legend firmly establishing himself as an icon of action cinema. In 2022, Stallone took on the role of Dwight “The General” Manfredi in the crime drama series Tulsa King, with the exiled capo being forced to relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to set up a criminal enterprise following a 25-year prison stint. Created by TV mastermind Taylor Sheridan, the Paramount+ original premiered on November 13, 2022, and became a runaway hit with audiences.
Fans couldn’t get enough of seeing Stallone go toe-to-toe with his former New York crime family, as well as a slew of colorful and downright dangerous adversaries, with the tough-as-nails mobster wheeling and dealing to establish a lucrative crime empire in Tulsa. Season 3 of the streaming sensation is slated to premiere on September 21, 2025, so let’s take a look at what we can expect from the upcoming installment and its episode schedule.

What Can Audiences Expect From the Third Season?
The third season of Tulsa King will follow Dwight “The General” Manfredi and his loyal crew as they square off against the Dunmire family, an affluent clan with old money who have no problem getting their hands dirty to get what they want. As his empire continues to thrive and grow, the exiled capo must protect his turf and the life he’s built since being released from prison after a 25-year stint. Acting veteran Robert Patrick and SEAL Team star Beau Knapp will appear in the father/son roles of Jeremiah and Cole Dunmire, with the duo expected to cause major problems for the Manfredi family.
Not only will Dwight have to contend with the dangerous Dunmires throughout the upcoming season, but he is also still locking horns with the New York Renzetti family, who want to eliminate Dwight and his empire by sending his old prison buddy Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Samuel L. Jackson) to Tulsa to kill him. Dwight’s colorful history with Russell will be explored, as will his new business relationship with Kansas City mobster Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo), whom he agreed to give half his earnings to after he took out Dwight’s rival, ousted New York boss Chickie Invernizzi (Domenick Lombardozzi) in the season two finale. The official season 3 logline reads:
“In Season Three, as Dwight’s empire expands, so do his enemies – and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.”
How Season 3 of ‘Tulsa King’ Sets the Stage For the Spinoff
In June 2025, it was announced that a spinoff set in New Orleans was officially in the works, with silver screen staple Samuel L. Jackson tapped to star in and executive produce NOLA King. Jackson’s character Russell Lee Washington Jr. will be introduced in the third season of Tulsa King and will be featured in a multi-episode story arc, setting the stage for the companion show. Russell had previously befriended Dwight while serving out a 10-year prison stint, and he is sent by the Renzetti crime family to eliminate him. Russell is impressed by the new life Dwight has built for himself, and that leads him to return home to New Orleans to start fresh. The logline says:
“Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned forty-years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family, friends, and to take control of the city he left behind. In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop.”
