Barcelona have officially announced their starting eleven, which will take on Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy final this evening.
The biggest takeaway is that both the new signings, Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford, are on the starting eleven.
Garcia, who will serve as Barcelona’s number one this season, starts ahead of Wojciech Szczesny.
In defence, the departure of Inigo Martinez means Ronald Araujo and Pau Cubarsi will operate at centre-back, with Eric Garcia and Alejandro Balde occupying the fullback roles.
In midfield, Hansi Flick has opted for Frenkie de Jong and Pedri, though the midfield is likely to receive additional support from Fermin Lopez.
A key exclusion from the starting eleven was Gavi, who was arguably Barcelona’s best player during the pre-season.
Nevertheless, the Barcelona attack will comprise Raphinha, Marcus Rashford and Lamine Yamal.
Rashford is likely to operate as the number nine in the absence of Robert Lewandowski, meaning the Englishman has a great chance to prove himself, not only as an attacker but as a goalscorer.
Flick has some excellent options on the bench, including Gavi, Ferran Torres, Dro, Marc Casado and Jules Kounde.
