Florian Wirtz‘s No. 7 shirt has sold more than any other after Liverpool officially launched their new Adidas home and away kits with record-breaking sales.

Wirtz was announced as Liverpool’s new No. 7 shortly before the official launch of the new Adidas home and away kits for the 2025/26 season.

Since the kits were released on August 1, no other player’s shirt has sold more.

Diogo Jota‘s No. 20 shirt – retired in the late striker’s honour but available for purchase with profits going to the LFC Foundation – was the second-best seller.

Liverpool have announced the launch of their new Adidas kits as the most successful in the club’s history, with orders from over 150 different countries.

Sales are up by over 700 percent from last year’s Nike kit launch, boosted by the reopening of a new-look official club store outside Anfield.

In terms of social engagement it is also the most successful kit launch in the Premier League ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Liverpool and Adidas have agreed a 10-year contract in what is the third partnership in their history, with the German manufacturer also supplying kits from 1985 to 1996 and then 2006 to 2012.

The deal is projected to be worth considerably more than the previous agreement with Nike and will earn the club much higher than the £60 million a year reported.

Wirtz was among the players used prominently during Liverpool’s marketing campaign for the new red home and white away kits, alongside teammates Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister.

Women’s players Sofie Lundgaard, Jenna Clark and Fuka Nagano also modelled the kits for the August 1 launch.

Liverpool broke the British transfer record to bring Wirtz to Merseyside from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with the attacking midfielder signed for £116 million.

It is no surprise that he is immediately the most popular player on the back of supporters’ shirts, particularly as it is not uncommon when it comes to high-profile new signings.

Dominik Szoboszlai had the most-sold shirt in the 2023/24 season with Mac Allister third in the list behind Mohamed Salah.
