August 1 – Sport integrity non-profit SIGA (The Sport Integrity Global Alliance) has elected its new Council for the 2025-29 term.
Italy’s Giovanni Tartaglia Polcini retains the chair of the 8-person council as an independent, while António Silva, president of European Aquatics, and Noura Hassan Al Jasmi, president of the UAE Badminton Federation are new council members.
Densign White, CEO, International Mixed Martial Arts Federation and one of SIGA’s founders and key supporters, Mohammed Hanzab, chairman, International Centre for Sport Security, have been re-elected for another term.
To meet the gender parity rule in SIGA’s Constitution, the Council will now co-opt four additional female members.
The SIGA General Assembly also officially welcomed two new organisations to its coalition: Chiliz (Malta) and Soul Touchin’ Experiences LLC (USA.
The meeting also adopted the 2025 Global Strategy, Action Plan & Master Calendar of Events.
At the core of this roadmap of SIGA’s activity over the next year includes the global expansion of Sport Integrity Week – now shifting to a full Sport Integrity Action Month together with the incorporation of a new continental structure in ASIA – SIGA ASIA.
SIGA has also undergone a review of its membership structure and categories which the meeting approved, “paving the way for broader participation, wider engagement and synergies, adding further value to membership and operational capability to accelerate the implementation of SIGA’s reform agenda,” said SIGA.

With the unanimous approval of key strategic and governance decisions, our members have clearly reaffirmed their commitment to our mission and endorsed the roadmap proposed by the Executive Committee… We have a strong, engaged and diverse group of leaders, fully aligned with SIGA’s reformist vision and committed to drive forward the integrity, transparency and accountability that Sport so urgently needs,” said Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, SIGA Global CEO.
