Erykah Badu has announced a tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Mama’s Gun. She’ll kick things off with a special show at the Hollywood Bowl featuring opener Westside Gunn. From there, she’ll play concerts in October, November, and December. See the tour dates below.
Before the Mama’s Gun anniversary shows, Badu will go on tour with the Alchemist, with whom she recently released “Next to You.” Those concerts take place across North America in August. On tour, they plan to debut their new collaborative album, Abi & Alan.
Mama’s Gun, released in November 2000, marked Erykah Badu’s second studio album, following her acclaimed debut, Baduizm. The album includes the hit single “Bag Lady,” which got Badu nominated for Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
Badu has not released a full-length project since the 2015 mixtape But You Caint Use My Phone. Her latest studio album, New Amerykah, Pt. 2: Return of the Ankh, landed in March 2010.
