Whilst we wait for the Premier League season to return and transfers to get announced over the coming weeks, there’s also the small matter of next season’s kits that fans will be keeping an eye out for.
Reception to Newcastle United’s home kit this season, keeping our iconic solid black and white stripes but with a blue trim, was mostly positive.
Meanwhile our rumoured third kit, inspired by the away shirt from the 1997-98 season, has built up quite a bit of excitement.
However, new emerges are circulating on social media depicting what’s seemingly our second strip for next season, and it’ll no doubt be a very divisive decision if it turns out to be legitimate, with clear links to the Saudi colours once again.
Newcastle United’s alleged away kit for next season has emerged, with leaked photos shared online.
Not for the first time, the green theme feels like a clear nod to the Saudi colours, with owners PIF appearing to have an influence on designs since the takeover was pushed through in October 2021.
But, whether people acknowledge the Saudi colours or not, it seems the latest design has not gone down well with most on social media, providing it’s accurate, that is.
Feedback on X features one fan saying it ‘looks more like a GK top than anything else’, while others appear sick of the green ‘Saudi look.’
Another added, ‘Don’t mind the shirt, Greens a personal favourite colour, but the noise around us having a green away kit every year is pretty tiresome.’
Earlier this year, the following design was ‘leaked’, showing thicker horizontal stripes, where as the image doing the rounds today features far thinner stripes across the jersey.
