Jalen Williams dominated Game 5 of the NBA Finals and led his Oklahoma City Thunder to a 120-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers to take a 3-2 series lead. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 31 points and 10 assists for the Thunder who sit one game away from their first NBA championship. On the other side, Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton was slowed due to a leg injury and failed to make a field goal, scoring only four points in Indiana’s defeat.

Cohen’s Analysis: Maybe I’m being a homer with my pick and wanting my futures bet to cash, but I think this series ends on Thursday night. Without a healthy Tyrese Haliburton, I would be very surprised if Indiana takes Game 6. Both games have gone under at Gainbridge Fieldhouse so that pick I’m fairly confident in after a high-scoring second half on Monday night. Jalen Williams is on his way to MVP in this series and has increased his scoring in each game thus far (17-19-26-27-40). I doubt he goes for 40+ on Thursday but I also don’t see how the Pacers can defend him properly. I would consider sprinkling him to win Finals MVP at +750 odds. With Haliburton hobbled, look for Andrew Nembhard to be more of a facilitator and shooter and to post a similar 14-4-6 line like he did in Game 1. T.J. McConnell has been fantastic in this series and singlehandedly kept Indiana in the game on Monday with a 13 point third quarter. He should get plenty of run for the Pacers considering Haliburton’s ailment. I think this game will be very close to the 5.5-point line so I’m more comfortable with Thunder moneyline to close out the series.
