8 Steamy Shows Like ‘Heated Rivalry’ to Stream Tonight

The brand-new series from Crave and Warner Bros., taking the streaming world by storm, is Heated Rivalry, and it’s proving once and for all that hockey is sexy. Largely following the incredibly complex romance between rival superstar hockey players, Ilya (Connor Storrie) and Shane (Hudson Williams), the show sees on-ice tensions thaw into bedroom romps, flirtatious text messages, and tuna melts.

The sexual intensity between the characters has sent tingles down the spines of HBO Max subscribers and has set social media on fire. Along those lines, Storrie and Williams have gained a number of new admirers due to their chiseled physiques. With that being said, Heated Rivalry isn’t the only series out there that makes people blush.

‘Overcompensating’

It’s more in the comedic lane, but Overcompensating still offers up some spicy moments that may make you sweat, given the backdrop of the series is a college campus. Benito Skinner’s Benny character, in particular, is on a journey of sexual exploration that sees him in some pretty compromising positions, although a number of them are awkwardly interrupted by his own novice behavior in the bedroom. But there are a few scenes when his conversations and actions take fans way beyond the fundamentals taught in a high school sex education class.

The supporting characters also have a tendency to make viewers blush. Benny’s best friend Carmen (Wally Baram) and sister Grace (Mary Beth Barone) have their own sexcapades, and they usually can continue to completion, without self-inflicted hijinks.

‘Boots’

TV legend Norman Lear’s final project of his career was the sleeper hit Boots, the period drama that follows an enlistee’s complex journey of finding himself, while hiding his sexuality simultaneously. While his journey doesn’t really offer any sexual heat, the same can’t be said about the villain in his story, his closeted drill sergeant. Through a series of flashbacks, viewers get a look at the drill sergeant’s steamy hookups with his secret boyfriend.

Sadly, news recently broke that Netflix would not renew Boots for a second season. So while the show is a great watch, its hot and steamy voyage only extends for eight episodes.

‘The Hunting Wives’

Right off the bat, Netflix’s The Hunting Wives doesn’t hold back on the sensuality. Despite the characters Margo (Malin Akerman) and Sophie (Brittany Snow) being married to other people, it’s their secret affair that takes fans’ breath away. As soon as Margo meets Sophie, the former lures the latter into a sexual connection that becomes a big part of the show in the first season. Their dynamic is actually quite reminiscent of the one between Ilya and Shane, in that it’s clandestine and full of heat.

Based on how the first season ended, though, viewers may not get a repeat of the blush-worthy moments between Margo and Sophie going forward in The Hunting Wives season 2. But hey, perhaps that just means they each will get new partners to “play” with.

‘Olympo’

If you’re someone who doesn’t mind language dubbing or subtitles, then Olympo is a good alternative to Heated Rivalry. Not only is the Netflix series focused on the competitive sports world as well, but the characters also get to business whenever their hormones start raging. Through the course of eight episodes, a few characters get hot and heavy, leaving countless viewers to blush uncontrollably.

Having said that, the backdrop of the series takes place at an elite training school of sorts, and the characters are largely in their early 20s. So the romance on display may lack some emotional maturity, even if the passion is hot, hot, hot.

‘Beauty in Black’

Beauty in Black arguably offers up the most steamy moments of any series on this list, and with good reason. First and foremost, half of the characters are entangled with the provocative nightlife of an illicit strip club, where more than just dancing occurs. Even if a character doesn’t work in the club, most of them have been seen in a sexually charged situation.

In particular, the dynamic between Varney (Terrell Carter) and Charles (Steven G. Norfleet) creates scene after scene of passion. While much has been said about the bodies on display in Heated Rivalry via Shane and Ilya, Varney and Charles have also managed to get tongues wagging on social media. For those who are used to a Madea experience from Tyler Perry, fair warning: he stepped way outside the box with Beauty in Black.

‘Gen V’

The successful spinoff of Prime Video’s The Boys, Gen V dips into the realm of superhero science fiction, which is not necessarily in the same wheelhouse as Heated Rivalry. However, when one takes a closer look at the romantic storylines, the two shows have some commonalities. In Gen V, Marie (Jaz Sinclair) and Jordan (London Thor/Derek Luh) also spend time trying to navigate their sexualities while figuring out what their romantic lives look like together.

On their adventure together, their chemistry really heats up, and smooching and beyond occur often. Outside of their dynamic, viewers can always expect to see hot and steamy moments with other characters. One tends to lose count of the number of nude and sex scenes between the two seasons of the series.

‘Fatal Seduction’

The title of the series alone suggests that sensuality is a key to the premise. The South African drama follows married woman Nandi (Kgomotso Christopher), who lets the suspicions of her husband’s infidelity push her to have one of her own while on a getaway. She crosses paths with a younger Jacob (Prince Grootboom), and the two instantly heat things up.

Considering their dynamic is based predominantly on lust and not love, their bedroom scenes aren’t for the faint of heart. Now, as a bonus to what was just mentioned, Fatal Seduction is also rooted in a murder mystery, so that adds another level of thrills to the viewing experience.

‘The White Lotus’

The White Lotus has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon over the course of three seasons, and for good reason. The writing on the show is phenomenal, and each season offers up some memorable and dynamic characters. For example, Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya was an instant hit among TV critics and viewers. But beyond great storylines and characters, The White Lotus can also be quite sensual at times.

Case in point, in The White Lotus season 3, when brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) Ratliff go to a yacht party, things take a very interesting turn. Things got so sexually charged that things crossed into what many viewers would consider incredibly taboo (think Game of Thrones‘s House Lannister).
