After a long week of work and those pesky adult responsibilities, the weekend has arrived. Maybe the past few days have been filled with small and big wins, or maybe you had “one of those days” where everything went wrong. Or maybe you started the day with a dentist appointment (in which case, it can only go up from here). Either way, when it’s Friday evening, and you’re finally ready to relax on the couch, there’s not much that compares to a good Netflix binge.
There’s just one issue: what do you watch? There are some incredible miniseries on Netflix, and no one can forget the chess obsession of The Queen’s Gambit or the shocking dynamics at the heart of The Beast in Me. But the best thing about the TV shows on this list? Netflix has renewed them all for another season, which means that once you get through your binge-watch, you can look forward to more exciting and memorable storytelling.
‘Wednesday’ (2022-)
Calling all Addams Family fans. Maybe you’ve been skeptical about this one, or just haven’t added it to the list yet. Wednesday Season 1 was released in November 2022 and Season 2 dropped in two parts in August and September 2025. Now that all 16 episodes of both seasons are out, it’s a riveting (and spooky) weekend binge.
Most will say the main draw is Jenna Ortega, and that’s definitely true. Other cast members like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Emma Myers are great as Wednesday Addams’s family and new roommate/friend. Even if Wednesday swears that she doesn’t need any pals, Enid Sinclair is a fresh and fun character. While it’s fun to see stars like Christina Ricci and Steve Buscemi show up, Wednesday is also an endearing, funny, and creepy (in a kind of cheerful way) story about being your own person. Catch up on both seasons before Wednesday Season 3, which doesn’t have a release date yet but will feature Winona Ryder (yay).
‘Beef’ (2023-)
Anthologies are great binge-watches since they avoid the sometimes awkward issue of a story coming to an end without a satisfying conclusion. Beef Season 1 tells a complete story about Amy Lau (Ali Wong) and Danny Cho (Steven Yeun), who meet in a parking lot.
Although Beef Season 1 is all about road rage, it’s also a deeper story about marriage, mental health, and how people treat each other. Beef Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on April 16, 2026, and will focus on a fight between Lindsay (Carey Mulligan) and Josh (Oscar Isaac), the country club boss of Austin (Henry Melton) and Ashley (Cailee Spaeny). It’s a compelling series that will make you think, especially the next time you see two strangers yelling at each other in their cars.
‘The Hunting Wives’ (2025-)
The Hunting Wives Season 1 is a steamy binge about rich characters living in Texas, keeping secrets from each other, and wondering who in their tiny town is a killer. Adapted from May Cobb’s 2021 book, the series has some familiar thriller elements, including the setting of a small community where everyone thinks they have the right to know everything about one another. Can any thriller promise to be this addictive, though? Once you race through these 10 episodes, you’ll know the answer is “no.” Add in newcomer Sophie (Brittany Snow) and the dynamic Margo (Malin Åkerman), and it’s the kind of show that makes you think, “Just two more episodes.” Then, the story is over, and you’re wondering how you’re going to possibly wait for more. Watch Season 1 before The Hunting Wives Season 2, which will likely be as over-the-top as the first batch of episodes.
‘The Four Seasons’ (2025-)
Can a comedy starring Tina Fey be bad? We would hope not, which is why it’s a good thing that The Four Seasons, which premiered on Netflix on May 1, 2025, is as entertaining as we wanted it to be. Much more mature and less goofy than 30 Rock, but just as funny, the eight-episode first season follows a friend group on a vacation at one couple’s lake house.
Co-created by Fey and based on the 1981 movie, which Alan Alda wrote and directed, The Four Seasons features the common trope of the pain and struggles that married couples experience. It still feels special and fresh. Season 2 is on the way, with the actors reprising their roles. Even though countless movies and TV shows have explored the ups and downs of marriage, it’s still compelling to ask whether love can last.
‘Untamed’ (2025)
So, you’ve watched an Addams Family story about a Goth teenager, a comedy about unhappy married couples, and a fascinating anthology about two strangers. It’s time for some action. Check out Untamed, the Netflix series starring Eric Bana in the role of Yosemite National Park agent Kyle Turner. The show opens with a brutal death, but it would be a shame to say too much more.
Besides Bana, who is a solid lead, Lily Santiago and Rosemarie DeWitt give great performances. Although some fans think Untamed isn’t fast-paced enough, Season 1 only has 6 episodes, making it an easy binge before Season 2. You can get through that on a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon (hopefully with some pizza).
‘Black Doves’ (2024)
Anyone who has already seen Netflix’s popular action thriller The Night Agent would also enjoy Black Doves, which stars Keira Knightley as Helen Dawson. As we learn right away, her husband doesn’t know she’s a spy. That’s probably enough to get anyone ready for a fun binge-watch, but the show adds in two timelines, which makes it even better.
The most exciting part of Black Doves might just be the ending. Although we don’t know when Black Doves Season 2 will be released, many think it will be in 2026, which makes it the right time to catch up on Season 1’s six episodes. Maybe plan a double feature and watch Untamed on Friday night and Black Doves on Saturday evening.
Running Point (2025-)
Do you love sports? If the answer is “of course,” you’ll enjoy Running Point, the Netflix comedy starring Kate Hudson, Brenda Song, Chet Hanks, Justin Theroux, and Drew Tarver. Even if you’d rather watch anything other than a game, it’s more of a funny family story than one hyper-focused on athletic activities, so it’s still a good pick.
All 10 episodes of Season 1 explore Isla Gordon’s (Hudson) journey as she’s put in charge of the Los Angeles Waves. One problem? Her family runs the team, and there might be more than a little bit of tension among them. While Hudson has played a lot of great comedic movie roles, it’s nice to see her starring on a TV show.
‘3 Body Problem’ (2024-)
You’ve watched Severance (and want Season 3 soon), cycled through The X-Files and The Expanse more than once, and need a new sci-fi TV recommendation. Adapted from Liu Cixin’s book series Remembrance of Earth’s Past, 3 Body Problem is a captivating weekend binge with just eight episodes. Without giving away the clever twists and turns, the intense story is about five students at Oxford University called the Oxford Five. It was also co-created by Alexander Woo and Game of Thrones co-creators Daniel Brett Weiss and David Benioff.
Tired of TV shows being canceled and cliffhangers never getting resolved? That won’t happen here. In May 2025, Netflix agreed to make 3 Body Problem Seasons 2 and 3, so viewers can rest assured knowing that the story is going to continue.
