Dragon Ball has some of the most iconic attacks in anime, and they’re exceptionally hard to rank. There are hundreds of different attacks used by dozens of supremely powerful characters, but which are the strongest attacks in the entire franchise?
Some attacks are variants of others, used when a character has ascended to a more powerful form, and that’s about as straightforward as it gets from Dragon Ball. From there, it’s a preference as to which attacks are the best.
For an attack to be considered one of the strongest in the franchise, it needs to either come with massive destructive potential or be incredibly useful. Some attacks aren’t inherently powerful: they’re just strong because the character using them is strong. Other attacks are so strong that they take a relatively weak character to an entirely new level, making the attack itself inherently powerful.
Golden Death Ball
Frieza has always been one of the strongest villains in Dragon Ball, and his Golden Death Ball is his most powerful attack yet. He used this attack before he destroyed the Earth, and if it wasn’t for Whis’ ability to rewind time, the Earth would’ve been decimated permanently.
Frieza used this attack in his Golden form, and he’s since revealed an even stronger form that might just be the strongest in the series. Black Frieza is on another level, and who knows what kind of attacks come with it.
Magic Materialization
Like Energy Absorption, Magic Materialization has always been around in Dragon Ball. Notably, Piccolo uses it to materialize clothes for himself and Gohan when they’re training together. Gas, one of the strongest villains in Dragon Ball, uses it for much more harmful ends.
Gas uses Magic Materialization to materialize weapons during battle. In the Dragon Ball Super manga, he materializes over a dozen different weapons and shields that he uses masterfully, adding to his combat power.
Solar Flare
Solar Flare is one of the strongest attacks in Dragon Ball that doesn’t do any real damage. Instead, it blinds an opponent, creating an opportunity for the user to attack or to flee.
The Solar Flare is used by Krillin and Goku expertly. When a normal attack just won’t cut it, both characters will use the Solar Flare to create an window that wouldn’t have existed otherwise.
Dragon Fist
The Dragon Fist might be the strongest attack in Dragon Ball that is barely ever used. Goku first used this attack against the fearsome Hirudegarn in one of the best Dragon Ball movies: Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon.
Goku uses an even stronger version of the attack against Super 17 in Dragon Ball GT. This attack is more powerful than most because it elevates its user’s strength immensely.
The Kamehameha’s power is relative to its users, meaning that if a weak character uses it, it won’t be that effective. The Dragon Fist is the exact opposite; when Goku uses it against Super 17, he’s in his kid form, but the Dragon Fist is so strong that he’s able to dive right through Super 17’s chest in a single strike.
Final God Explosion
The Final God Explosion sees one of Vegeta’s most famous moments in the Dragon Ball franchise return to screen. His Final Atonement is the peak of his character arc, and in the Tournament of Power, he brings the attack back in an even stronger form.
Vegeta was fighting Universe 11’s second-strongest warrior when he used the Final God Explosion. Luckily, Vegeta was able to withstand the attack this time, but it drained him of nearly all of his energy.
Gamma Burst Flash
The Gamma Burst Flash is Vegeta’s strongest attack that he learned on his own in Dragon Ball. It’s the strongest version of the Final Flash, one of the Prince of all Saiyans most iconic attacks, and one of the most powerful in the franchise.
There have been two notable uses of this Gamma Burst Flash: first against Zamasu in the Future Trunks Saga and then later against Jiren in the Tournament of Power. While it isn’t enough to finish either opponent, it’s easy to see that Vegeta has upgraded the Final Flash massively.
Meteor Explosion
Meteor Explosion is one of the most visually stunning attacks in Dragon Ball. It might be Gogeta’s second-strongest attack in general, as he uses it right before using his ultimate attack against Broly.
Gogeta looked enraged during the finale of his fight against Broly, and the Meteor Explosion shows it. Gogeta launches Broly into the air before summoning an extreme amount of Ki over his opponent, detonating it like a bomb in an instant.
Limit Ultra Kamehameha (Ultimate Kamehameha)/God Final Kamehameha
There’s always been a debate between Vegito and Gogeta’s strength. There’s no way of truly telling which fusion of Goku and Vegeta is stronger, and until they can somehow find a way to fight and settle the score, their respective ultimate attacks will be considered equal in terms of power.
Vegito used his ultimate attack in the Future Trunks Saga against Fused Zamasu, called the God Final Kamehameha. It’s a combination of the Kamehameha and the Final Flash, with both blue and yellow ki bursting from the attack.
Gogeta used his ultimate attack against Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, called the Limit Ultra Kamehameha or the Ultimate Kamehameha. It’s the attack Gogeta used to end one of the greatest fights in the history of anime, and if it wasn’t for Cheelai, Broly would’ve been decimated by it.
Beerus Ball
The Beerus Ball is said to be Vegeta’s current strongest attack. It’s an attack invented by Beerus that sees the God of Destruction combining the supremely powerful Hakai technique with a Ki attack, creating a massive orb of devastation.
Vegeta used this attack in his Ultra Ego form, a form that the Prince of all Saiyans might not use for long. There’s no telling if Vegeta will continue to use this attack or not, but if he does, he’ll finally be closing in on the Gods of Destruction.
Supreme Kamehameha
The Supreme Kamehameha is the single strongest Kamehameha shown in the Dragon Ball franchise and Goku’s absolute strongest attack. He’s able to use this version of the Kamehameha when he’s in his Mastered Ultra Instinct Form, his strongest form yet.
Like Vegeta, Goku doesn’t love his divine form as it turns him into a version of himself that he doesn’t like. More recently in the manga, he’s used the True Ultra Instinct form, a weaker version that allows him to tap into his emotions. While the Supreme Kamehameha is the strongest attack Goku has currently, he’ll probably come up with something better soon.
