15 MCU Multiverse Saga Heroes Ranked By Their Potential Against Thanos

15 MCU Multiverse Saga Heroes Ranked By Their Potential Against Thanos

The Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Multiverse Saga has seen the debut of several heroes in a short timespan due to the increase of projects being released every year, and many of these new MCU heroes could have helped the Avengers take down Thanos in the Infinity Saga. The MCU’s Avengers movies stand as the franchise’s undisputed main events, with huge crossovers.

The heroes lost in Avengers: Infinity War, having to resort to time travel in one of the MCU’s best movies, Avengers: Endgame, to undo the destruction the Mad Titan had caused. However, they might not have needed to go that far had some of the powerful heroes who debuted in the Multiverse Saga arrived in the MCU’s timeline a little earlier.

One of the most powerful Multiverse Saga characters is Franklin Richards, who possesses the same Power Cosmic as Galactus and was able to resurrect his mom while still being a baby. Were Franklin older, he would certainly be on the list, as he would be quite useful against Thanos. That said, many powerful and/or genius-level adult heroes could have helped defeat Thanos, such as:

The Thing

First up is one of the members of the MCU’s Fantastic Four, the Thing. The character is known for his physical skills, being one of the strongest heroes in Marvel Comics.

Sadly, the Thing would have lost in a direct fight with Thanos. Given that the Mad Titan was able to easily defeat the Hulk in a fistfight, Ben Grimm would have met the same fate. He could have helped in a team effort though.

Human Torch

Another Fantastic Four member on the list is Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch. The Fantastic Four: First Steps brought to life the smartest live-action version of the character, giving him an edge when fighting villains.

Johnny Storm can fly, manipulate flames, and even absorb them. He would likely be able to do some damage to Thanos, but if his family was in danger, the hero might act on impulse similarly to Star-Lord.

Gambit

Channing Tatum’s Gambit was the breakout hero of Deadpool & Wolverine. The MCU gave Gambit his comic book powers, being able to imbue objects with kinetic energy and explode them.

A sacrifice play like in X-Men ’97 might have allowed Gambit to kill Thanos with him. As far as a one on one fight with the Mad Titan would go, Thanos would have easily used the Infinity Gauntlet to beat Gambit.

Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men

I decided to bundle up the multiverse Spider-Men because of how their powers are essentially the same, though Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker is more high-tech and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man is seemingly the strongest in live-action.

The MCU showed that when the Spider-Men come together, they can devise a plan to take down multiple dangerous villains. I feel that could have translated well against Thanos, with the Spider-Men not defeating him in a fight, but springing a trap like the one on Titan.

Shang-Chi

There are two versions of Shang-Chi to analyze. The first is the hand-to-hand fight expert, who would be able to defeat many MCU heroes, but is simply not strong enough to take out someone who could box the Hulk and win.

However, with an upgrade from the Ten Rings, the fight would get interesting. I would love to see how the Ten Rings’ enormous power fares against Thanos’ Infinity Stones. Based on both artifacts’ feats, Thanos would likely still come on top, but it could be close.

Deadpool

Deadpool has a healing factor that would make things interesting. Essentially, Thanos should not be able to kill Ryan Reynolds’ MCU hero for good. Deadpool could keep coming back and being a distraction.

However, in terms of damage dealt to the MCU villain, Thanos would not be heavily injured in a fight with Deadpool. That rings true to both the version of the villain with and without the Infinity Gauntlet.

9

Wolverine

Like Reynolds’ Deadpool, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine also possesses a powerful healing factor. Logan ranks higher than Deadpool on the list because not only is he more violent, but he has more experience.

While the MCU’s Wolverine might not be the same as the Fox X-Men movies, he still came from a universe where he was part of the mutant team. Years of adventures with the X-Men would have made him a powerful team player in the Avengers’ plans.

8

She-Hulk

In terms of brute strength, She-Hulk is easily one of the most powerful heroes introduced in the Multiverse Saga. Sure, Thanos defeated Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, but we saw how easily She-Hulk settled into her dual life.

Jennifer Walters had way less trouble adjusting to being She-Hulk. During her training with the Hulk, it even seemed that, with enough time, she could surpass his power. Fighting alongside the Avengers, She-Hulk could have given Thanos reason to worry, if no Infinity Stones were in play.

7

Mister Fantastic

I believe many might be surprised to see Reed Richards so high on the list. No, Pedro Pascal’s MCU character does not rank this high because I think he would be able to defeat Thanos in a fight.

His placement is due to how The Fantastic Four: First Steps truly made Reed seem like the smartest man alive. He solved every problem in his universe and created a trap for Galactus that worked. I feel Reed could have done similar against Thanos.

6

Invisible Woman

The final member of the MCU’s Fantastic Four on the list is Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm. Not only is she a genius, but Sue’s powers and her versatility would have made her one of the best weapons for the Avengers against Thanos.

In her MCU debut, Sue was able to protect her team with force fields, make an entire spaceship invisible, and even pushed Galactus throughout New York City. That last feat put her in the upper echelon of power in the MCU, enough to harm Thanos.
